About the Role

Advisors & Consulting Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution. Our Advisors & Consulting Services team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard's rich data assets, proprietary platforms, and technologies to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Our teams work with a diverse global customer base across industries, from banking and payments to retail and restaurants.

The Advisors & Consulting Services group has five specializations: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Our Marketing consultants lead the strategy development and implementation of campaigns and engagements for clients. They use customer data to provide deep direct marketing expertise across channels, evaluating campaign results and adapting the approach to optimize marketing performance.

Role Summary

As an Associate Managing Consultant in the CA&E track, you are a senior member of the team responsible for owning and leading full client engagements. You will independently scope projects, design multi channel strategies, and lead end to end execution across acquisition, early life engagement, CRM, and retention. You will manage stakeholders, oversee the work of consultants and analysts, and bring industry knowledge to shape impactful recommendations. This role requires confidence in managing complexity, guiding younger team members, and ensuring the delivery of measurable client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Project Ideation & Scoping (Senior Ownership)

  • Lead scoping of CA&E engagements, define project methodologies, KPIs, and required resources.
  • Shape client proposals, bringing in your industry expertise (financial services, digital, payments, loyalty, etc.).
  • Advise clients on strategic directions grounded in data, benchmarks, and market trends.

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead complex multi workstream marketing projects.
  • Drive execution of:
  • Acquisition and onboarding journeys
    • Activation/early life engagement programs
    • CRM and lifecycle strategies
    • Multi channel campaigns (paid, owned, earned)
    • UX/ conversion optimization initiatives
  • Manage internal teams, external agencies, and cross-functional contributors.
  • Ensure project budgets, timelines, and outcomes are delivered to Mastercard standards.

Client Value Delivery

  • Serve as primary point-of-contact for client managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Present insights, strategies, and recommendations clearly and persuasively.
  • Build long-term client relationships and trust.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Define analytical frameworks to measure campaign and program performance.
  • Guide team members in creating dashboards, segmentation, and evaluations.
  • Turn insights into actionable strategic recommendations.

Industry Expertise & Innovation

  • Bring domain expertise in financial services, payments, digital ecosystems, or loyalty/products.
  • Identify innovation opportunities (AI, mar tech, CRM automation, new channels).
  • Contribute to developing Mastercard intellectual capital.

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Oversee consultants and analysts; provide coaching, direction, and feedback.
  • Lead meetings, working sessions, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure quality control and elevate the team's strategic thinking.

Internal Processes

  • Own project forecasting, staffing, sourcing, vendor management, and invoicing.
  • Produce complete documentation across project life cycles.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of experience in marketing, digital, CRM, or consulting roles.
  • Proven experience independently owning marketing initiatives or workstreams.
  • Strong ability to lead multi-stakeholder projects with minimal supervision.
  • Deep understanding of acquisition funnels, customer lifecycle, segmentation, campaign orchestration.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with relevant tools (CRM platforms, analytics suites, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Strong business acumen and comfort interacting with senior clients.
