The Ragon Institute of MGB, MIT, and Harvard is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner to serve as Clinical Operations Manager overseeing multiple immunology and infectious disease protocols. This candidate will supervise daily activities of a team of clinical research coordinators to meet Institute enrollment targets while ensuring regulatory and safety standards. Specimens collected on these protocols include blood, swabs, stool, tissue, and other specimens. The Clinic Operations Manager will work closely with Regulatory on submitting amendments, reporting adverse and other events, and continuing reviews. This candidate will work with investigators within the Institute to draft, budget for, and operationalize new protocols. This candidate will also serve as Financial Delegate on several funding sources.
The Clinical Operations Manager additionally serves as Co-investigator on several protocols. Tasks include:
Consenting study participants
Health history and medical records review
Prescreening eligibility review
Eligibility lab and procedure ordering
Test results review and eligibility approval
Performing clinical procedures including physical assessment, phlebotomy, and pelvic exams with specimen collection, including biopsies of the cervix and vagina
Liaise with ancillary clinics at MGH and BWH (including Infectious Disease, Blood Transfusion Services, Gastroenterology, Dept of Surgery and ORs at MGH and MGH Waltham)
Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Lead is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. This includes developing appropriate plans of care and conducting ongoing evaluations. The NP Lead will perform additional leadership duties on the team/department through indirect management of other Advanced Practice Providers and/or Allied Health Professionals.

Essential Functions
-Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
-Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
-Nurse Practitioners Leads will also perform additional duties, including but not limited to: indirectly managing other Advanced Practice Providers and/or Allied Health Professionals; providing support in staffing/scheduling as needed; becoming involved in daily clinical problem solving, onboarding, and metric tracking; provides input on appraisals, staff development, discipline, and hiring and termination decisions.

Experience:
4-6 Years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner 3-5 years required
