Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist with expertise in oncology rehabilitation and lymphedema management to provide comprehensive care for patients living with and beyond cancer. This role focuses on addressing the complex and evolving physical, functional, and quality‑of‑life needs of individuals across the cancer care continuum—from active treatment through survivorship and palliative care.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy required or Master's Degree Physical Therapy required or Doctor of Physical Therapy Physical Therapy preferred

Licenses and Credentials:
Physical Therapist MA License required:
Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) credentials required; LANA preferred
APTA Board Certified Specialist in Oncologic Physical Therapy preferred
Experience:
Experience in a hospital, rehab or ambulatory setting 3-5 years required
Role Overview:
The Physical Therapist in this role will evaluate, treat, and support patients who are experiencing impairments related to cancer diagnoses and cancer treatments. These may include acute, subacute, and long‑term sequelae associated with surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other medical interventions. The therapist will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary oncology care team to optimize function, independence, symptom management, and overall, well‑being.
Clinical Expertise and Scope of Practice
The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and hands‑on experience in managing a broad range of oncologic rehabilitation needs, including but not limited to:
- Lymphedema management, with Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) credentials required, including assessment, treatment, and long‑term self‑management strategies
- Treatment of chemotherapy‑induced peripheral neuropathy, addressing sensory, motor, balance, and functional impairments
- Management of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, including back pain, neck and shoulder pain, and arm, leg, or joint pain related to cancer, metastases, or prior cancer treatment
- Rehabilitation for patients experiencing deconditioning, weakness, fatigue, and reduced endurance because of cancer or its treatment
- Assessment and treatment of neuromuscular impairments, including nerve dysfunction, balance deficits, and gait abnormalities
- Supportive and palliative rehabilitation aimed at maintaining comfort, mobility, and quality of life for patients with advanced disease
Patient‑Centered Care Responsibilities
In addition to direct clinical care, the Physical Therapist will:
- Develop individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans that align with patient goals, medical status, and stage of cancer care
- Provide education, advice, and practical strategies to help patients adapt to physical changes, manage symptoms, and navigate both temporary and long‑term side effects of cancer and its treatments
- Empower patients through instruction in safe movement, energy conservation, self‑management techniques, and strategies to maintain independence in daily activities
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech‑language pathologists, and other members of the oncology care team to ensure coordinated, holistic care
