Job Summary:

The Phototherapy Technician under general supervision and per protocol administers UVB (narrow band), UVA(narrow and broadband) phototherapy, and Excimer Laser light treatments to patients with a variety of skin disorders
in a high volume ambulatory setting. Emphasis is placed on safely delivering treatments as often as three times
weekly to each patient with a chronic skin condition. Connects patients with emotional and educational support
according to established policies and protocols. The Technician also needs the ability to organize priorities well,
complete tasks, manage confidential patient information, perform diagnostic testing (phototesting, patch testing,
photopatch testing), schedule patient appointments, referrals and other insurance requests. This position is also
responsible for answering and appropriately managing incoming telephone calls; scheduling patient appointments;
check-in and check-out; creating and updating patient registrations; setting certain expectations for patients
regarding their visit, charge capture and billing encounter management and responding to customers’ information needs.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred

Experience:

Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required
