Mass Eye & Ear (MEE) is offering a sign-on bonus for new and experienced Surgical Technologists!- Longwood Satellite Location

Currently have Full Time, Per Diem, and Part time Opportunities Available

We are offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for new hires who accept a full-time offer (Current MGB employees not eligible ). The bonus will be paid out $5,000 upon successful completion of 90-days of employment & $5,000 after 12-months of employment from date of hire

A Surgical Technologist is responsible for providing intraoperative care to surgical patients. Successful candidates are eager to learn, motivated, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, are detail oriented and are committed to providing exceptional patient care.

• Available Shifts/Locations: We are currently hiring for our Longwood satellite campus (800 Huntington Ave) – shifts to include full-time/40hrs weekly, Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm. Per Diem and Part time Available as well

Job Summary:

• Responsible for assisting surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in various surgical procedures and playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the operating room-Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
  -Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment required for the surgery.
  -Transport patients to the operating room, help with positioning on the surgical table, and ensure their safety and comfort during the procedure.
  -Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
  -Follow proper sterilization techniques to ensure the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and supplies.
  -Maintain accurate and complete documentation of surgical procedures, including counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments used.
  -Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
  -Assist in preparing the surgical site by applying sterile drapes and solutions.
  -Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed by the surgeon.

• Basic Life Support BLS Certification
• Data Conversion
• Various Issuers preferred Certified Surgical Technologist CST - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred Dental Assistant State License

• HR Only preferred Medical Technician New Hampshire License
• New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy preferred

Experience:

Experience as a Surgical Technologist I or in a similar role 0-1 year required and One (1) year experience as Surgical Technologist in a similar setting 1-2 years preferred

• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
• Familiarity with surgical equipment and technology used in the operating room.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations during surgeries.
• Understanding of infection control protocols and patient safety measures.
