Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine)- Brigham and Women’s Primary Care at Southern Jamaica Plain

Job Summary

Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine)- Brigham and Women’s Primary Care at Southern Jamaica Plain

Brigham and Women’s Primary Care is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered adult primary care. Join our mission-driven team at the Southern Jamaica Plain Community Health Center, where you will play a vital role in caring for a vibrant, diverse patient community within a collaborative, well-resourced, and equity-focused environment. This is a part-time position, offering four to six clinical sessions per week (each session is 4 hours). Clinicians are supported by a team-based model, an in-basket support team, AI-enabled documentation tools, and a robust administrative and clinical infrastructure, to enable efficient, relationship-centered care.

Clinical Model & Care Philosophy- As a member of our Primary Care Physician team, you will deliver patient-centered care through a collaborative, team-based, and value-driven population health management model. This approach prioritizes proactive health screening and preventive care, thorough evaluation and diagnosis of symptoms, expert management of both chronic and acute conditions, and coordinated care with enhanced communication among specialists for patients with complex needs. You will also leverage and optimize an innovative clinical model designed to enhance care delivery.

Our comprehensive care team extends beyond physicians to include behavioral health clinicians, social workers, nurses, population health coordinators, patient navigators, community health workers, resource specialists, high-risk RN case managers, and virtual care support.

Southern Jamaica Plain Community Health Center is a comprehensive facility offering a wide array of services, including primary care, laboratory services, and behavioral health. The center is hospital licensed by Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and is part of the Mass General Brigham (MGB) healthcare system. Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality, team-based care to all patients and families, with a strong focus on vulnerable and underserved populations. Most of our patients are Mass Health (Medicaid) recipients and come from nearby communities, including Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park, Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury, Roslindale, and West Roxbury.

As part of our deep commitment to community health, we maintain longstanding partnerships with programs such as Boston Healthy in the City and “Reach Out and Read” and actively engage in community outreach initiatives. We foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture that values mentorship, well-being, and the professional growth of all team members, in pursuit of a more equitable and just health care system.

Qualifications As a Primary Care Physician, you will benefit from a supportive and innovative environment designed to help you thrive, including:

  • No call responsibilities. Dedicated after-hours APP call team fully manages all after-hours patient needs, ensuring predictable schedules and protected personal time.
  • AI-supported documentation. Ambient scribe technology reduces documentation burden and minimizes after-hours charting.
  • Centralized administrative support. Dedicated virtual in-basket team triages patient messages, with additional centralized support for prescription refills and prior authorizations.
  • 30-minute visits with balanced daily volume. Allowing 16 patients per day, designed to prioritize relationship-based care over throughput.
  • Manageable panel with structured ramp-up. Clearly defined panel expectations with a 3-year ramp-up, ensuring a sustainable, well-balanced practice.
  • Competitive compensation model. Strong base salary with value-based incentives, plus a generous sign-on bonus for those who qualify.
  • Flexible scheduling options. Part-time schedules 4-6 sessions, with limited potential telehealth sessions (as applicable) once patient panel is established.
  • Team-based care model. Collaborate with RNs, population health coordinators, clinical social workers, community health workers, and resource specialists enabling physicians to practice at the top of their license.
  • Academic and professional growth. Sponsorship for an optional academic appointment through Harvard Medical School, with opportunities to engage in teaching, mentorship, and participate in grand rounds.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and development. Structured onboarding programs and access to robust professional development resources.
  • Comprehensive benefits package. Includes CME allowance, time off, tuition reimbursement, retirement plans, and eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Active, or ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license to practice in Massachusetts, including MCSR and DEA.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus, particularly in supporting communication with our diverse patient population.
