We are seeking a talented individual to join our MMB team at Mercer. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Business Development Manager or Associate Director to drive new business growth for MMB Hong Kong. This role is dedicated to identifying and securing new client opportunities, expanding our market presence, and establishing partnerships that align with our growth objectives. The successful candidate will focus exclusively on new business acquisition, leveraging market insights and innovative approaches to build a robust pipeline.

  • Develop and implement targeted strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Hong Kong market.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to uncover emerging trends and potential client segments.
  • Generate leads and build a strong pipeline of prospective clients through networking, outreach, and industry events.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet the needs of new clients and align with market demands.
  • Negotiate terms and close new business deals to achieve growth targets.
  • Represent the company at relevant industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and generate new leads.
  • Track and report on new business development activities, pipeline status, and market intelligence.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform business development strategies.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field;
  • 5-10 years of experience in new business development within a B2B environment, preferably with a network of HR buyers and contacts
  • Proven success in generating and closing new business opportunities in the Hong Kong market.
  • Strong knowledge of the local business environment and industry trends, preferably within the HR and benefits space.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in sales management tools such as Microsoft Dynamics / Salesforce, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus.
