Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk Transformation team at Mercer. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Delivery and PMO Lead

Reporting to the Risk Transformation Program Director, the Delivery & Program Management Office (PMO) Lead will be responsible for ensuring the successful end to end delivery of the program and establish and maintain strong governance, standards and oversight.

The role combines hands on delivery leadership i.e. driving planning, execution, risk and issue management and stakeholder engagement, with ownership of the PMO function including setting methodologies, reporting frameworks, resource planning, performance tracking and governance reporting and coordination. A key function of this role is to ensure alignment to strategic objectives, consistency in delivery practices and transparency of progress, risks and outcomes to stakeholders.

12-month contract initially

We will count on you to:

  • Establish consistent delivery methodologies, practices, tools and reporting, working with Initiative Leads and Project Managers to implement in a way that is fit for purpose while maintaining strong program transparency and momentum.
  • Ensure outcomes are achieved on time, within scope and budget.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate program risks and issues, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring timely resolution to minimise impact on program outcomes.
  • Lead and coach project managers and delivery teams to uplift capability and consistency
  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Establish mechanisms for tracking and controlling program progress, risks, and issues.
  • Instill the practices and culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • With the Program Director, establish and lead the Program Management Office for the Risk Transformation Program, defining its structure, processes, and governance framework.
  • Oversee and review program resources to support program and stream delivery
  • Provide consolidated reporting on status, risk, issues, dependencies and financials.
  • Continuously improve PMO processes, tools and reporting to enhance efficiency and transparency.
  • Develop and implement program governance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and effective program management practices.

What you need to have:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, preferably within financial services.
  • Experience in Regulatory Remediation Plans (preferable)
  • Experience in program management, with a focus on PMO leadership, preferably in a complex and dynamic organisational environment. Experience in leading large-scale transformation programs is highly desirable
  • Proven experience in establishing and leading PMOs, with a deep understanding of program management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
