We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk and Compliance team at Mercer Super. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Line 2 Risk Assurance Lead

This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

We will count on you to:

• Provide Line 2 risk oversight and assurance for a regulator-mandated risk transformation program uplifting Mercer Super’s Risk Management Framework.
• Review and maintain key program governance and assurance artefacts, conduct design and operating effectiveness reviews of frameworks, policies, controls, and GRC solution deployments.
• Produce detailed reporting for Board and Management Committees, highlighting governance and assurance challenges and providing sound recommendations.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and the appointed Independent Expert and coach teams to uplift risk and compliance management practices.
• Support initiatives to enhance risk awareness, skills, and capability across the business.
• Manage a team of 1-2 people

What you need to have:

• University-level qualifications in business management or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience in risk or compliance roles, with demonstrated Line 2 oversight expertise.
• Experience in large regulatory transformation programs, preferably within financial services or superannuation industries.
• Strong knowledge of risk and compliance management principles, financial services, and superannuation regulatory requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Experience in leading a team

• Proven ability to analyse and communicate complex risk matters in a commercially sensible way.
• Proficiency in leveraging technology to improve risk management practices and productivity.
• Executive-level interpersonal skills and experience producing reports for senior committees.
• Previous experience managing a small team
