The Strategic Business Communications Manager plays a critical role in shaping how Mars Pet Nutrition North
America Associates understand, experience, and move through business priorities, transformation, and change.
This role designs and delivers communications that help Associates clearly understand what’s changing, why it
matters, or what it means for them, while reinforcing connection to our Purpose, strategy, and performance
goals.
Serving as a strategic partner to business leaders, this role ensures communications are clear, credible, and
aligned to enterprise priorities, translating complex topics into messages that drive understanding, alignment,
and action.
This role operates across a range of business priorities – from campaign activations and organizational change to
business performance and engagement – requiring strong judgment, adaptability, and the ability to move
seamlessly between strategy and execution.

What will be your key responsibilities?Strategic Communications Partnership
- Serve as a trusted communications partner to business leaders, shaping narratives that build clarity,
- alignment, and momentum across teams.
- Provide counsel in fast-moving and often ambiguous situations, ensuring messaging is consistent,
- grounded, and connected to business priorities.
- Translate complex topics into clear, relevant, and actionable Associate-facing communications.
Change Management & Transformation Communication
- Partner with SBC Sr. Manager to lead communication plans for transformation initiatives, organizational changes, and new ways of working, often with significant Associate impact. ·
- Partner with SBC leadership to ensure alignment with enterprise priorities and consistency across efforts. ·
- Develop communications that drive understanding, adoption, and sustained behavior change, balancing clarity with empathy.
Engagement & Leadership Communications ·
- Support business updates, town halls, leadership cascades, and key moments that connect Associates to strategy and performance. ·
- Partner with leaders to shape content that is clear, focused, and relevant, even in complex or sensitive moments. ·
- Help establish a consistent communication rhythm that reinforces focus, accountability, and transparency.
Storytelling & Content Development ·
- Identify and develop authentic stories from across the business that reinforce purpose, progress, and performance. ·
- Create content across channels including intranet, newsletters, digital platforms, and video. ·
- Ensure storytelling connects day-to-day work to the broader growth strategy
Issues & Sensitive Communications ·
- Support communications related to business-sensitive topics and high-visibility situations, ensuring messaging is timely, accurate, and aligned. ·
- Provide counsel to leaders navigating complexity, risk, or uncertainty.
Culture & Connection ·
- Help bring functional initiatives to life in ways that are meaningful and relevant to Associates, regardless of function or role. ·
- Strengthen connection to the broader Mars Petcare and Mars, Inc. community.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement ·
- Actively participate in the Strategic Business Communications network. ·
- Continuously improve communication approaches based on feedback, engagement signals, and evolving business needs.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Education or Marketing
- 5+ years of experience in a high paced corporate or agency environment.
