Job Description:

The Connected Commerce Accelerator role in North America is responsible for leading the North America Connected Commerce agenda, translating enterprise growth priorities into integrated customer, channel, retail media, and digital shelf strategies that drive market performance and accelerate e Commerce growth.

This role serves as a strategic integrator across Customer Development, Marketing, Retail Media, and Supply, ensuring connected planning, disciplined execution, and data‑driven decision making that maximize customer impact, portfolio performance, and long‑term value creation. With Connected Commerce targeted to deliver 100% of our global Mars Pet Nutrition’s growth over the next five years, representing 30% of global PN sales by 2033, this role will be a catalyst for enterprise-wide transformation and value creation.

This role is based in Franklin, TN with regular in-office collaboration expected. Flexibility is a key enabler—empowering associates to make choices that support both business outcomes and personal needs, including occasional remote work.

What are we looking for?

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15+ years of commercial leadership experience, with at least 8 years in senior Connected Commerce / digital commerce roles in global or regional CPG, retail, or tech companies.

  • Proven track record of delivering transformational growth across digital and omnichannel commerce.

  • Strong strategic thinker who is naturally curious on new trends and business models

Preferred qualifications:

  • General management experience preferred.

  • Ideally a digital native with strong understanding of e Retailer dynamics, DTC business models, marketplaces, and social commerce.

  • Deep expertise in performance marketing, digital shelf management, and data-driven growth.

  • Inspirational leadership style with the ability to influence at board level and energize cross-functional teams.

What will be your key responsibilities?Connected Commerce Strategy & Leadership

  • Set and own the North America Connected Commerce strategy, aligned to enterprise growth priorities, customer strategies, and global commercial direction.

  • Establish a clear, scalable Connected Commerce framework that integrates customer, channel, retail media, and digital shelf priorities.

  • Translate enterprise and commercial strategies into actionable connected commerce plans that drive measurable growth.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and own the North America Connected Commerce strategy, aligned to the company’s growth ambition.

  • Define clear channel priorities (pure players, omnichannel retail, marketplaces, quick commerce, social commerce, emerging platforms).

  • Champion a digital-first, omnichannel mindset across the organization and influence senior leadership to embed Connected Commerce in all growth plans.

  • Anticipate future commerce, consumer, and technology trends to inform long-term growth strategies.

  • Integrate Connected Commerce priorities into the broader strategic agenda, agency eco-system and investment plans.

Commercial Growth

  • Drive sustainable, profitable Connected Commerce sales and share growth across all categories.

  • Shape category leadership in digital channels by aligning innovation, assortment, and portfolio strategies to channel dynamics.

  • Build a world-class digital & physical shelf strategy, ensuring category leadership across priority retailers and platforms.

  • Establish North America joint value creation frameworks, ensuring mutual growth and ROI with our key retailers.

  • Innovate and test new commerce models that connect online, offline, and direct-to-consumer journeys, including emerging ecosystems such as AI-driven retail and media-commerce convergence.

Capability Building

  • Build and scale a high-performing, future-ready Connected Commerce organization.

  • Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Technology to deliver end-to-end excellence across the consumer journey. Embed a digital-first culture across commercial, marketing, and supply functions.

  • Design capability frameworks and training programs to upskill the entire organization on Connected Commerce.

  • Attract, develop, and retain top Connected Commerce talent to build a future-ready leadership bench.

Consumer Experience & Data

  • Ensure consumers experience our brands consistently across all touchpoints — from discovery and engagement to purchase and post-purchase, whether online, in-store, or on emerging platforms.

  • Leverage data and technology to deliver personalized, relevant interactions that deepen engagement, build loyalty, and drive conversion.

  • Shape and execute an industry-leading consumer data strategy, maximizing lifetime value.

  • Champion responsible data use and privacy standards, building consumer and retailer trust.

  • Harness advanced analytics, AI, and performance marketing to drive precision growth across all channels.

  • Partner with IT/Tech to build best-in-class martech and adtech ecosystems that integrate media, retail, and consumer data.

P&L Influence & Governance

  • Influence global and North America Connected Commerce P&L targets and ensure strong ROI on investments.

  • Define success metrics and build a governance model for reporting, accountability, and performance.

  • Balance top-line growth with profitability and operational efficiency.

  • Lead North America prioritization of Connected Commerce investments, ensuring resources align with growth opportunities.

  • Provide transparency and influence to Leadership Teams through consistent performance tracking and foresight.
