The Strategic Business Communications Manager – Transformation plays a critical role in helping Mars Pet Nutrition North America Associates understand and navigate enterprise change. This role designs and delivers strategic communications and change management plans that translate complex transformation initiatives into clear, credible messaging that connects what’s changing, why it matters, and what it means for Associates.

This role goes beyond informing Associates – it plays a key role in driving understanding, adoption, and sustained behavior change across enterprise transformation efforts. As part of the Strategic Business Communications (SBC) team, this role is accountable for ensuring transformation communications are aligned to enterprise communication standards, narrative, and priorities, while working in close partnership with the Transformation Office and cross-functional stakeholders to bring transformation efforts to life for Associates..

What will be your key responsibilities?Transformation Communications Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of communications strategies that support enterprise transformation initiatives across Mars Pet Nutrition North America.
  • Partner closely with the Transformation Office and cross-functional leaders to translate transformation priorities into clear, consistent narratives aligned to the North America communications strategy.
  • Ensure transformation communications are aligned with the broader North America communications strategy in tone, clarity, visual identity, and purpose-driven messaging.
  • Translate complex business strategies, transformation efforts, and organizational changes into clear, relevant, and actionable Associate-facing communications.

Change Management & Enterprise Change Communications

  • Lead the design and delivery of change communication strategies that support large-scale transformation, with a focus on driving understanding, adoption, and sustained behavior change.
  • Partner closely with Strategic Business Communications leadership and transformation teams to ensure communication strategies are integrated into broader change plans and support business outcomes.
  • Identify potential resistance points, adoption risks, and communication gaps within transformation initiatives, and proactively shape communication approaches that address them.
  • Maintain alignment and visibility with SBC leadership by sharing plans, progress, and insights to ensure enterprise coherence.
  • Develop communications that not only inform but actively help Associates navigate change, build confidence, and adopt new ways of working.

Leadership & Stakeholder Communications

  • Serve as a strategic communications partner to transformation leaders and senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Act as the lead Strategic Business Communications partner to the Transformation Office, representing SBC and ensuring alignment between enterprise communications strategy and transformation priorities.
  • Support the development of leadership communications including town halls, business updates, leadership cascades, and enterprise messaging moments tied to transformation initiatives.
  • Help leaders communicate change with clarity, transparency, and consistency, ensuring messaging resonates across diverse Associate audiences.

Storytelling & Content Development

  • Identify and develop stories that highlight transformation progress, milestones, and the people behind the work.
  • Create compelling written and visual content across internal communication channels including the intranet, newsletters, digital and environmental signage, Associate emails, internal video scripts, and more.
  • Ensure transformation storytelling reinforces purpose, progress, and pride while connecting change initiatives to the broader Mars Petcare strategy.

Associate Engagement During Change

  • Develop communication approaches that help Associates stay informed, engaged, and connected during periods of significant change.
  • Partner with stakeholders across functions to ensure transformation messaging is adapted appropriately for different Associate populations and business environments.
  • Support leaders in reinforcing key messages and maintaining strong two-way communication during transformation efforts.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Actively participate in the Mars Strategic Business Communications network, sharing best practices and learning from peers.
  • Continuously improve how we communicate transformation and enterprise change by gathering feedback, monitoring engagement, and refining communication approaches.
  • Support additional projects as assigned in response to evolving business needs.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Education or Marketing
  • 5+ years of experience in a high paced corporate or agency environment.
