About this team
The Lululemon Liaison Office (LLO) Sample Team ensures that our product samples are not only of the highest quality but are also delivered on time and aligned with our sampling calendar. Our team fosters strong relationships across functions, working closely with partners to support innovation and precision in every sample we produce.
A day in the life- Lead high-level discussions with project leads to align on sample strategies and resolve bottlenecks.
- Synthesize complex sample data and liability tracking into strategic reports for senior management, identifying emerging trends and providing proactive solutions for long-term scalability.
- Monitor sample timeliness, conducting checks and assessments to uphold Lululemon's standards.
- Maintain and follow the sample program calendar, ensuring sample progress aligns with established timelines.
- Communicate sample program milestones and any potential delays to cross-functional teams, including designers, product developers, and quality teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, as well as vendors, for seamless communication and collaboration.
- Troubleshoot and provide alternative solutions when current sample processes face challenges or delays.
- Lead the charge in resolving sample-related issues by coordinating with relevant stakeholders and developing both short-term fixes and long-term solutions.
- Visit factories as needed to oversee sample production, and support vendor adherence to Lululemon’s sample guidelines.
- Take the initiative in projects and creative problem-solving to drive improvements in sample processes.
- Track sample development status through data entry, analysis, and report generation for visibility and accountability.
- Manage and oversee the Raw Material liability tracker to ensure accurate tracking and transparency.
- Coordinate mass communications to engage vendors, ensuring alignment on sample expectations and requirements.
- Lead and implement strategies to optimize sample lead time and costs.
- Act as a mentor and coach to teams and partners, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and excellence within the sample team.
Qualifications:
- Ideal Background: Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel, or a related field; at least 7 years of experience in sample production or a similar role within the fashion industry. Knowledge of textiles, garment construction, and sampling processes is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Experience in identifying workflow inefficiencies, resolving production bottlenecks, and providing data-driven insights to optimize sample processes.
- Bilingual Communication: Fluent in both Mandarin and English to support seamless communication with vendors and internal teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel is essential; familiarity with Microsoft Office and sampling tracking tools (such as ERP or PDM) is a plus.
- Creativity and Problem-Solving: Ability to devise unconventional sampling solutions when existing methods are not feasible, emphasizing the value of innovative thinking.
- Personal Qualities: Organized, communicative, self-motivated, and adaptable with a passion for quality and innovation.
