About the Team

The Merchandising Analysts team partners with U.S. Merchants to enable data-driven category decisions that drive sales, margin, inventory productivity, and omni-channel execution excellence. The team serves as the analytical engine supporting category strategy, product line reviews, vendor negotiations, inventory optimization, product setup governance, and cross-functional issue resolution across stores and online.

This team is a critical bridge between Merchandising, Inventory Planning, Supply Chain, Stores, Online, Finance, and Vendor partners to ensure accurate execution of product, cost, promotional, and stocking strategies.

Roles & Responsibilities: Core Responsibilities:

Capability Build and Business Impact:

  • Develop and execute training plans to onboard team members on processes, systems, and tools.
  • Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Support transition governance(milestones/risks/resolutions), ensure stabilization of transitioned process and address any gaps.
  • Ensure consistent execution of vendor and item setup, promotional activities, and governance processes.
  • Ensure readiness for key business milestones such as Product Line Reviews, Vendor Forums, and strategic business reviews.

Category Analytics Oversight

  • Drive analytical rigor to proactively identify risks and opportunities across product categories.
  • Provide thought leadership on category performance, vendor economics, promotional effectiveness, and assortment productivity.
  • Influence merchant decisions using data-driven insights and financial analysis.
  • Elevate analytical storytelling and executive-ready insights.

Stakeholder Management & Cross Functional Partnership

  • Partner with US based Merchants to align team deliverables with category priorities.
  • Manage capacity planning, workload prioritization, and stakeholder alignment with U.S. partners.
  • Build strong partnerships with Inventory Planning, Supply Chain, Online, Finance, Store Operations, and Technology teams.
  • Work with merchandising partners to drive technology enhancements to stream line current scope of work.

Operational Excellence & Transformation

  • Standardize and scale processes across categories to improve efficiency and turnaround times.
  • Identify automation and advanced analytics opportunities to reduce manual effort and increase insight velocity.
  • Implement KPIs and performance dashboards to measure productivity, quality, and business impact.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process re-engineering.

Leadership

  • Establish strong onboarding, training, and skill development programs (retail acumen, financial analysis, storytelling, systems expertise).
  • Drive continuous upskilling of the team to adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning aligned to Lowe’s core values
  • Support team engagement, performance management, and career development.
  • Build and environment to encourage diversity & inclusion within the team.
  • Analyse feedback from BEST/engagement surveys and develop action plans to address focus areas

Years of Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in retail / merchandising;
  • 4+ years of experience in leading teams

Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Bachelors Degree - in business, marketing, finance, statistics or related field (B.com / BBM / MBA / Retail Operations Management)

Skill Set Required Primary Skills (must have)

  • Experience in retail / merchandising
  • Experience working with category management, merchants, vendors, e-commerce item lifecycle management, pricing / promotion management.
  • Experience woking with global partners
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with cross functional teams to drive continuous improvement or technology enhancement
  • Ability to leverage data, information and research alternatibves to solve business and execution challenges.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results, self-starter and self-directed
  • Strong attention to detail, project and process management skills
  • Ability to drive operational excellence

Secondary Skills (desired)

  • Advanced Excel,SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Data visualization
