As a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for the 3rd shift, you will play a crucial role in leading our maintenance team and overseeing the operations in the Powerhouse and Maintenance Trades areas.
THE WORK
Direct hourly reports in the Powerhouse and Maintenance Trades areas, providing guidance and support as needed.
Oversee the execution of preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
Coordinate emergency response efforts and ensure prompt resolution of maintenance issues.
Communicate effectively with 1st and 2nd shift management and supervision to address any maintenance‑related concerns.
Manage timekeeping for hourly reports and handle administrative tasks related to scheduling and documentation.
Ensure that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures, schedules, and work plans.
Manage and navigate union business, ensuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) while overseeing employee relations.

Please note:
This position is based out of our Stratford, CT location.
This position is full‑time onsite from 11 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.
WHO YOU ARE
You have previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field, with demonstrated leadership skills.
You are knowledgeable about preventive and predictive maintenance practices and have experience overseeing maintenance operations.
You are an effective communicator and collaborator, able to work closely with team members and other departments.
You are proactive and detail‑oriented, able to anticipate maintenance needs and develop solutions to address them.
You are comfortable working during 3rd shift and have the flexibility to respond to emergencies as needed.
You have experience managing union relations and applying CBA provisions to daily operations.

Basic Qualifications:
- Supervisory/Management – Led diverse maintenance crews, driving safety, productivity and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Industrial Boilers – Operated and maintained high‑capacity steam boilers; familiar with ASME codes and preventive‑maintenance programs.
- HVAC Systems – Experience with large‑scale heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning equipment and associated control systems.
- Industrial Air Compressors – Skilled in the upkeep and troubleshooting of rotary‑screw and reciprocating compressors.
- Union Environment – Managed staff under a collective bargaining agreement, fostering positive labor relations while meeting operational goals.
Desired Skills:
Leadership of Hourly Personnel – Proven ability to direct, mentor, and motivate hourly staff, ensuring clear work assignments, performance feedback, and a safety‑first culture.
CT OE2, S1 or S2 License (Preferred) – Holds a valid Connecticut OE2, S1, or S2 license, demonstrating qualified expertise in specialized equipment operation and compliance.
Collaborative Team Player – Thrives in a team‑oriented environment, fostering open communication, cross‑functional cooperation, and shared problem‑solving.
Industrial Boiler & Equipment Mastery – Deep knowledge of boiler systems, feed‑water pumps, burners, and related auxiliary equipment, with hands‑on experience in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Cogeneration (Cogen) Unit Expertise – Familiar with combined‑heat‑and‑power plant operations, steam‑turbine generators, heat‑recovery systems, and associated control instrumentation.
Industrial Chiller Proficiency – Experienced with large‑capacity chillers, condenser water loops, evaporators, and refrigerant management, ensuring reliable cooling performance.
HVAC & Plumbing Systems Acumen – Solid understanding of building‑wide heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and plumbing networks, including ductwork, piping, and control schematics.
Industrial Air Compressor Know‑How – Skilled in the operation, maintenance, and diagnostics of rotary‑screw and reciprocating compressors, including pressure regulation and energy‑efficiency measures.
Fundamental Electrical Distribution Insight – Basic competency with power distribution panels, motor starters, protective devices, and wiring practices essential for equipment interfacing.
Microsoft Office Proficiency – Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for documentation, reporting, scheduling, and effective communication across the organization.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
