Jobs
Description:
The selected candidate will serve as the CAD (Computer Aided Design) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) training lead for all aeronautical sites, operating within the CAD/CAM & PLM organization.
In this role, the incumbent will oversee the training process and requirements for both CAD tools (CATIA V5, 3DX, and NX) and PLM systems (PDM, Aero Source, Enovia, CADDatanet, PLM4ADP, and Xcelerator) across cross functional teams. A deep, hands on knowledge of CATIA V5, 3DX, NX, Xcelerator, and other aerospace PLM tools is essential.
The primary responsibility is to deliver comprehensive training on CATIA V5, 3DX, Xcelerator, and related PLM platforms to functional groups that include design, analysis, manufacturing, tooling, sustainment, and specialty engineering.
In addition, the candidate will apply aerospace design expertise to develop best practice CAD/CAM and PLM modeling processes, coordinating with the Aero IT organization to create and deploy effective tools and capabilities for the user community. This includes generating supporting documentation—such as methods, standards, processes, and training materials—to facilitate tool implementation, and working with the Design Process Integration (DPI) team to define prerequisite engineering dataset standards, update the Engineering Process Control Manual, and produce other necessary documentation.
The role also involves troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within the CAD/CAM & PLM environment, leveraging prior experience in Model Based Analysis (MBA), Model Based Design (MBD), Model Based Manufacturing (MBM), and PLM to advance engineering and operations training initiatives.
The training lead will collaborate with multiple CAD/PLM instructors and subject matter experts to tailor training to functional objectives and program requirements, while working closely with stakeholders to ensure that project goals and program expectations are met.
Effective oral and written communication skills are required to facilitate discussions, disseminate technical decisions, and share pertinent information with program and engineering personnel.
The successful applicant will be a self motivated member of a dynamic, multi site team, possessing strong work ethic, time management, and interpersonal abilities, and must be willing to travel occasionally for team interaction or program support. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance are mandatory.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with experience in design, analysis, and/or engineering tools training or a Master’s degree in a STEM field.
- Ability to obtain and retain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
- Experience developing engineering CAD/PLM training programs and establishing best modeling processes.
- Proven ability to validate and test CAD/PLM tool functionality.
- Skill in creating clear training materials and best practice documentation.
- Capability to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and provide user support.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in an aerospace design environment, especially in one or more of the following areas: structural design/analysis, composite design/analysis, subsystems design/analysis, electrical/mechanical routing, or mechanism design/analysis.
- Proficiency with Teamcenter and NX (or comparable PDM/PLM and CAD/CAE tools).
- Experience developing code for utility applications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical approaches and recommendations.
