THE WORK
Position Assignment: Aircraft Systems Maintenance Trainer (ASMT) Technician for the F-35 supporting Rovaniemi Finland.
This position will offer a long-term deployment to a foreign country. The successful candidate will support the sustainment, maintenance, and operations benefiting the Finnish Air Force.
The ASMT Technician is responsible for the operation, technical analysis, modifications, and sustainment of F 35 ASMT in accordance with specific customer specifications and directives.

Key Responsibilities
-
The candidate will support the sustainment, maintenance, and operation of F 35 Training Devices at Rovaniemi, Finland.

Install components and assemblies into racks, cabinets, workstations, and customer facilities.

Perform, conduct, and document preventive and scheduled maintenance required for the devices and associated subsystems.

Update maintenance data collection records and assist with the installation and checkout of equipment modifications.

Maintain simulation devices to meet customer availability requirements.

Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals, or simulator documents.

Assist with installations, testing, and maintenance of operating system software packages.
-
Isolate and report malfunctions and discrepancies to the lowest definable level.

Establish and perform operating system and device maintenance in accordance with industry standards.

Work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin Training Team to achieve F 35 Maintenance Training objectives.

Implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed.

Comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with F 35 program and customer requirements.

Have experience working in an environment that requires interaction with multiple functional areas and personnel of diverse backgrounds.

Work Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule that aligns with the customer’s operational needs.
-
Availability to travel to other sites to provide ASMT support.
-
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lb., perform repetitive motions, work overhead, and use hands to grasp, handle, and reach with the arms.

Capability to work at heights and to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist frequently.

Demonstrates strong independence and self motivation, consistently delivering high quality results while working independently.

Additional Requirements
-
Perform additional duties and related responsibilities as assigned.
Deployment and continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the OJT required at Lockheed Martin’s training locations prior to international assignment.
The selected applicant may be required to work at deployed locations, work rotating shifts, and work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Accompanied Status Availability: Accompanied status means new hires may have qualifying dependents accompany them on their long term overseas assignment.

F-35 Fast Facts
Basic Qualifications:
-
Holds a Final Transferable Secret security clearance; the most recent Periodic Reinvestigation must be within the past five years.
-
Ability to obtain and maintain relevant SAP access.
-
Minimum two years of professional experience with specialized training that is commensurate with the assignment.
-
Experience with U.S. Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps fighter aircraft maintenance, avionics, and/or weapons loading.
-
Proven background in computer and network systems problem solving, including hardware/software change management.
-
Willingness to support flexible work hours that align with the customer’s operational schedule.
-
Must obtain and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, etc.) from the date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work unsupervised toward program goals.
-
Experience in an environment that requires interaction with multiple functional areas and a diverse workforce.
-
Ability to read and apply technical schematics, drawings, manuals, and other technical documentation to resolve complex problems.
Desired Skills: -
Direct experience with F 35 maintenance—including vehicle, mission, and/or weapons loading systems.
-
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying engineering drawings and schematics.
-
Familiarity with Windows operating systems, PowerShell scripting, and Windows Defender.
-
Hands on experience in network troubleshooting, maintenance, and configuration ensuring cyber security compliance and protection.
-
Ability to brief and teach technical information to both internal and external audiences.
-
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Automated Logistics Information System (ALIS), and Joint Technical Data (JTD).
-
An accredited college degree or equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and specialized training appropriate to the assignment.

Current F 35 Maintenance Simulator Technician experience.
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
