The Work

As a Cyber Security Systems Engineer supporting the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) program, you will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate, and verify Cyber solutions across the lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting cyber risk assessment activities, including vulnerability analysis, and analysis of mitigation solutions.

Conducting cybersecurity test and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify and validate compliance with defined specifications and requirements.

Implementing appropriate Assessment and Authorization activities as required by customers.

Specific technical responsibilities include:

Evaluating Linux and Windows computing platform devices, network designs, and devices for cyber security vulnerabilities.

Assessing and driving mitigation efforts of system security threats/risks throughout the program lifecycle.

Validating system security requirements definition and supporting secure systems operations and maintenance.

Implementation of security policies to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) objectives including monthly operating system (OS) and software patches and quarterly reviews of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).

Interacting significantly with other technicians, analysts, and engineers to implement security designs, resolve vulnerabilities, modify system or software components security settings, and mitigate risk.

Experience in conducting cyber risk assessments and implementing security policies.

Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related cybersecurity processes.

Additional Requirements

Security + or equivalent certification required within in 3 months of employment

This position is located at Hurlburt Field Base in Hurlburt Field in Okaloosa County, Florida.

Candidate must be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret level government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience analyzing security reports and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
• Must be willing to travel up to 30%
• Security+ or equivalent certification required within in 3 months of employment
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• Security + or equivalent DoD 8570 certification
• Experience using McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator
• Experience with Cisco administration
• Experience using Security Center/ACAS – Assured Compliance Assessment Solution
• Experience using Splunk - Security Information and Event Management tools
• Experience with Host Base Security System (HBSS) Deployment and management
• Scripting experience (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
