Lockheed Martin Space in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Summer 2026 Software Engineering Intern. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement software, firmware (Vhdl and/or Verilog) and/or test scripts to support flight-like testbed software and payload testing. You will compile test results and test data, and provide test reports to determine requirements compliance. Must be a US Citizen.

Basic Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Experience with firmware, Python and C++ software development.
• Experience in board, box testing and Software/Firmware/Subsystem Integration.
• Knowledge of SHREC CSP, SSP development environment and software, firmware products
• Familiarity with practical uses of unix operating system and unix system statistic features, etc.
• Exposure to Realtime Operating Systems
• Experience with using, developing software, and creating scripts on Linux:
• Python
• C++
• Linux, Embedded Linux experience

Desired Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work in a dynamic, high-performance team-based environment.
• Previous internship as a software engineer intern preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Gitlab
• Able to work independently

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $36,504 - $77,788.
