Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO is seeking an Operations Industrial Engineering Intern - Summer 2026. As an Operations Industrial Engineering Intern, you will be working with experienced engineers to identify process improvement opportunities and design/develop creative solutions to implement those ideas. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of defining projects, business impacts, ROI, communication, and closure of initiatives and drive metrics for measuring business improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and business processes management principles.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelors or Masters degree program. Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations programs or other related majors are preferred.
- Have completed coursework or projects pertaining to one, or all of the following subjects: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Manufacturing Processes, Theory of Constraints, and/or Manufacturing Technology
Desired Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Visio, manufacturing process simulation software
- Manufacturing process mapping
- Experience with Tableau, data analytics, continuous improvement, production environment, or Lean Six Sigma
- Passion for manufacturing operations and aerospace

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $53,227 - $70,708. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
