Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a highly motivated recent graduate to support market research activities within the Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) domain. The analyst will investigate radars, interceptors, command and control (C2) systems, and emerging technologies by leveraging patent databases, public records, news outlets, corporate disclosures, and government library resources. The role blends technical writing, data synthesis, and concise presentation delivery to help shape product strategy and acquisition road maps.

Core Responsibilities:

-Conduct systematic market scans covering IAMD radars, interceptors, C2 architectures, and related technology trends.
-Perform patent and literature searches using government and commercial databases; extract salient data points.
-Aggregate disparate data sets (technical specifications, performance metrics, cost estimates, regulatory filings) into coherent analytical reports.
-Draft clear, concise technical documents, briefings, and executive summaries for internal stakeholders.
-Develop slide decks and visualizations to communicate findings to small group audiences (engineers, program managers, senior leadership).
-Maintain organized libraries of source material and ensure traceability of all cited information.
-Collaborate with senior analysts, program managers, and subject matter experts to validate interpretations and refine research scopes.

-Exposure to cutting edge defense technologies and a fast moving, high impact mission environment.
-Mentorship from senior engineers and program managers in the IAMD community.

Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a closely related discipline emphasizing critical problem solving.

  • Strong technical writing and editing ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver concise presentations to small groups.
    -Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
    -Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired Skills:

-MATLAB – for data manipulation, statistical analysis, or modeling.
-Database Theory & Use – experience with SQL or NoSQL querying.
-Library Science Techniques – familiarity with scholarly/technical database search strategies.
-Patent Database Research – competence with USPTO, EPO, or commercial patent search platforms (e.g., Derwent, Pat Snap).
-Visualization – ability to craft charts/graphs that highlight trends and comparisons.

  • Capability to work with large, heterogeneous data sets and extract actionable insights.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
