Survivability Engineer (Level II)

As a Survivability Engineer, you will support the System Engineering (SE) Special Disciplines Organization in one or more of the following areas:
- Applying electrical, electronics and nuclear physics theories to execute various tasks related to Survivability engineering field
- Performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
- Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Ensuring that military space vehicle and missile designs, from the component level to the system level, will meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments; these environments include natural space radiation and man-made radiation
- Conducting technical planning, specification requirements derivation, modeling and analysis, design, test planning and execution, documentation, requirements verification/validation to support overall system needs and act as technical consultant for management and customers
- Join our Nuclear Hardness & Survivability Engineering group. Be partnered and mentored by senior experts while supporting multiple SRP programs.
This position could require travel at various periods of time based on program lifecycle to support Radiation testing

Basic Qualifications:
-
Experience with performing radiation analysis (radiation transport, activation analysis, criticality analysis, health physics, or similar) through work experience or courses
-
US citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills: -
Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar area of study

Familiarity with MCNP
-
Working knowledge of C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar in data analysis
-
Understanding of Natural Space Radiation environments and Nuclear Engineering

Understanding of electronic, electrical, electromechanical and electrooptical (EEEE) components

Familiarity with Radiation test facilities (e.g. test labs in universities)

Knowledge of electromagnetic environment and theories

Advanced degree in a related subject area

Survivability Engineering software tools (e.g., NOVICE, FASTRAD, Srim/Trim, Novice/Geant4, Creme96, Creme-mc, Shieldose, Spenvis, Omere, Bumper, ORDEM, MEM, Ap8/Ae8, and Ap9/Ae9, SPIET-D, NORSE, SPICE, PSPICE)

Ability to Work Remotely:
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:
9x80 every other Friday off
