Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical engineering intern to join our team. In this role, you will work as part of an engineering team to research and mature advanced microelectronics technologies in support of low-SWaP (Size Weight, and Power) solutions to meet Lockheed Martin sensor and mission needs. You will work closely with a senior engineer in the design, development, integration, and testing of these technologies, including the support of technical data packages, design reviews, supplier engagement, and lab & test facility activities. The successful candidate will have experience in engineering design, heat transfer, statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and chemistry through their coursework.

Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with focus and interest in Materials Engineering and/or Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or similar major.
• Able to work full time from August 2026 through January 2027
• Ability to be onsite in Moorestown, NJ.
• Course work in: Engineering design, heat transfer, statics, dynamics, material science and chemistry.
• General understanding of materials and chemistries related to heat-transfer, and CTE matching.

Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Understanding or ability to investigate chemistries and processes used in semiconductor manufacturing and other related processes.
• Proficiency with 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software such as Solidworks or Creo. Creo Preferred.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
• General understanding of software languages such as Python
• Team Collaboration experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $58,552 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
