The Role:
You will have the opportunity to be part of a very special team for Live Nation’s newest Canadian venue, HISTORY Ottawa. A state-of-the-art venue with a capacity of up to 2000 hosting over 180 concerts and private events annually. Responsibilities:

Interact with guests in a natural, friendly demeanor

Successfully complete a pour test prior to every shift, where applicable

Suggestively sell beverages to guests at the bar

Prioritize and organize drink orders

Consistently prepare beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications, abide by all control systems

Recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager

Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance alcohol awareness training and HOB alcohol policies

Maintain Live Nation safety and sanitation standards

Prepare guest checks (on point of sales terminal) and process payment

Maintain appropriate Comp and Spill checks
Qualifications:
-
Must be Smart Serve Certified and at least 19 years of age
-
Minimum of 3 years experience bartending in a premium, fast-paced environment. Those with previous bottle service & casual fine dining experience an asset

Knowledge of various spirits, beers, wines and champagnes

Experience using point of sales systems; Appetize an asset, but not required

You understand the art of upselling and enjoy meeting daily sales incentives

Experience requesting ID’s for anyone whom looks under the legal drinking age and recognizing validity

Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time

Ability to learn and execute cocktail menu with ease and to detailed specifications

Have an incredible ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high volume environment while maintaining a first-in-class hospitality and food and beverage experience

Liases with F&B management team on par levels and various other food and beverage needs

Strong communication skills, including listening skills and ability to communicate with guests and respond to inquiries

A passion for live events and desire to ensure every customer experience is exceptional!

Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

The expected compensation for this position in Ontario is: $17.60 per hour.
