Job Summary:

WHO WE ARE

The Gorge Amphitheatre is one of the most iconic outdoor music venues in the world. Perched above the Columbia River in Central Washington, The Gorge hosts large-scale concerts and festivals that welcome tens of thousands of guests per event, many of whom travel from across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

The Gorge is operated by Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s leading live entertainment company. At The Gorge, global touring scale meets complex, high-expectation local operations—requiring disciplined planning, strong leadership, and flawless execution across venue, campground, and transportation systems.

THE JOB

The Gorge Amphitheatre is seeking a Parking Manager to lead all parking and traffic operations for one of the most logistically complex venues in the Live Nation portfolio.

This role is responsible for end-to-end traffic and parking operations, beginning on county roads and access routes and extending through on-site parking, pedestrian flow, and post-event egress. The Parking Manager will plan, coordinate, and execute traffic control strategies that ensure safe, efficient movement of guests, staff, artists, and vendors before, during, and after events.

This is a field-driven leadership role that requires operational command, strong judgment, and the ability to manage large teams and dynamic conditions in a remote, outdoor environment.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

Traffic Planning & Roadway Operations

  • Own the traffic plan from county roads to parking lots, including ingress and egress strategies

  • Coordinate traffic flow on county roads, venue access routes, and internal roadways

  • Ensure all traffic control devices are properly planned, deployed, monitored, and recovered, including:

  • Cones

  • Barricades

  • Directional signage

  • Message boards and programmed verbiage

  • Ensure signage placement, messaging, and wayfinding align with the approved traffic plan

  • Monitor traffic conditions in real time and make operational adjustments as needed

Parking & On-Site Operations

  • Oversee all parking areas to ensure they are safe, organized, clearly marked, and maximized for capacity

  • Lead ingress and egress operations during peak arrival and departure windows

  • Conduct regular inspections of lots and access routes, documenting issues and corrective actions

  • Maintain clear pedestrian and vehicle separation where required

Staffing & Leadership

  • Interview, hire, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and discipline parking staff

  • Ensure supervisors and line staff meet expectations for:

  • Punctuality

  • Uniform compliance

  • Deployment readiness

  • Document all performance issues and ensure follow-through on:

  • Retraining

  • Redeployment

  • Progressive discipline, up to termination

  • Lead pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs

Systems, Equipment & Accountability

  • Manage all parking-related equipment and inventory, including:

  • Vests

  • Radios

  • Signage

  • Cones and traffic control assets

  • Ensure equipment is checked out, tracked, and returned appropriately

  • Maintain accurate staffing, incident, and operational records

  • Partner with Venue Operations leadership to refine layouts, policies, and procedures

Guest Experience & Issue Resolution

  • Serve as the escalation point for parking and traffic-related guest concerns

  • Resolve disputes professionally and decisively

  • Maintain a visible, on-site leadership presence during events

Cross-Department Coordination

  • Work closely with:

  • Venue Operations

  • Security

  • Campground Operations

  • Transportation and traffic partners

  • Support sustainability initiatives where applicable

  • Assist with end-of-show venue closure and asset recovery as needed

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in parking operations, traffic operations, or comparable event leadership roles

  • Proven experience leading teams in high-volume environments

  • Strong communication, judgment, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to remain calm, direct, and solutions-oriented under pressure

  • Willingness to work long outdoor shifts in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing traffic and parking at large venues, festivals, or amphitheaters

  • Familiarity with traffic control planning and execution on public or county roads

  • Experience working in remote or rural venues

  • Demonstrated ability to enforce standards, document performance, and lead through accountability

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Extended periods of standing and walking

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

Parking and traffic operations at The Gorge are mission-critical. This role requires:

  • Strong leadership presence in the field

  • Clear communication and decision-making

  • Consistent documentation and follow-through

  • Comfort enforcing rules and standards without exception

This is not a desk role. The Parking Manager is expected to lead from the field, take ownership of outcomes, and understand that the guest experience begins on the road.
