THE JOB

The Senior Contracts Director provides senior-level oversight, risk management, and workload support for Blueprint Studios’ contract execution function. The role is focused on reviewing, guiding, and de-risking high-value and high-risk agreements while supporting the Contracts Manager in managing a sustained, high-volume contract environment. This position is not primarily transactional; it exists to ensure consistency, speed, and risk discipline across the portfolio.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

Contract Oversight & Risk Management

  • Provide second-level review and approval of high-value, high-risk, and non-standard contracts, including agreements exceeding $1M.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, legal, and delivery risks across the contract portfolio.
  • Ensure consistent risk allocation and compliance with Live Nation and Blueprint Studios standards.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex negotiations, disputed terms, or elevated risk positions.

Workload Support & Prioritization

  • Support the Contracts Manager during peak execution periods to maintain contract cycle times.
  • Establish and manage risk-based contract prioritization to align senior review with the highest exposure.
  • Assist in negotiating critical commercial terms where schedule, cost, or risk sensitivity is highest.

Process, Governance & Standardization

  • Standardize contract structures, templates, and negotiation positions across recurring contract types.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contract workflows, review processes, and approval paths.
  • Reduce rework and execution delays caused by inconsistent terms or late-stage risk identification.

Stakeholder & Leadership Support

  • Partner with construction, design, procurement, finance, and legal teams to align contracts with delivery and commercial objectives.
  • Provide leadership guidance on contract strategy, risk posture, and negotiation approach.
  • Support audits, claims preparation, and issue resolution as required.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in contract negotiation, contract management, or commercial risk roles supporting construction or large capital programs.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing high-volume contract environments with significant financial exposure.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracting, procurement structures, and risk allocation.
  • Proven ability to support and mentor contract managers while maintaining speed and quality of execution.
  • Pragmatic, commercially focused approach to risk management.

BENEFITS & PERKS

Our motto is ‘Taking Care of Our Own’ through 6 pillars of benefits:

HEALTH: Medical, vision, dental and mental health benefits for you and your family, with access to a health care concierge, and Flexible or Health Savings Accounts (FSA or HSA)

YOURSELF: Free concert tickets, generous paid time off including paid holidays, sick time, and personal days
