Kitchen Manger - The Van Buren
Job Summary:
Position Summary: The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role manages kitchen staff, oversees inventory and ordering, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, and works closely with operations leadership to maintain a high standard of service during events and daily operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure food is prepared to company standards
- Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Ensure compliance with all health department and food safety regulations
- Manage food inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Monitor food costs, portion control, and waste management
- Assist with menu execution and ensure consistency in food quality
- Coordinate with management and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service during events
- Create and manage kitchen schedules based on operational needs
Qualifications:- Previous kitchen leadership or management experience preferred - Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage inventory, ordering, and food cost control
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and event-based schedules
Preferred Certifications:- Food Handler Certification - Serv Safe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain)
