The Role:

You will have the opportunity to be part of a very special team for Live Nation’s newest Canadian venue, HISTORY Ottawa. A state-of-the-art venue with a capacity of up to 2000 hosting over 180 concerts and private events annually. If you are ready to be a part of Ottawa’s most memorable and historic shows, this role might be for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Handle duties including; stocking ice bins, liquor, beer, and wine, including lifting/moving up to 25lbs.

  • Perform various opening and closing barback duties. Ensuring the bar is consistently up to appropriate standards for flawless execution

  • Ensure stock is rotated and stored correctly, reporting any damage and waste.

  • Maintains back of house areas including stockrooms, making sure they are kept clean and tidy at all times.

  • Energetic and willingness to be active in the workplace, completing tasks that are both physical and repetitive

  • Recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and bring them to the attention of a bartender/server, manager and/or security

  • Create an atmosphere where coworkers are connected and committed through seamless communication and the willingness to help others win

Qualifications:

  • Must be Smart Serve Certified and at least 19 years of age

  • 1-2 years of experience as a barback or similar role in a high-volume environment with high standards

  • Knowledge of various spirits, beers, wines and champagnes

  • Takes great initiative and is able to anticipate the needs of bartenders

  • Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time

  • Have an incredible ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high volume environment while maintaining a first-in-class hospitality and food and beverage experience

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal in

  • Liaises with F&B management team on par levels and various other food and beverage needs

  • A passion for live events and desire to ensure every customer experience is exceptional!

  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

The expected compensation for this position in Ontario is: $17.60 per hour.
