Summary

Lincoln Electric has an available opportunity for a Process Engineer. We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team at our Euclid, OH facility. The Process Engineer will provide collaborative communication, applying knowledge and experience toward innovating and improving our Stainless & Nickel Alloy Wire Drawing operation. This role involves working with cross functional teams using innovative and creative problem-solving skills to meet goals.

What You Will Do

  • Work on engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability and safety, lower operation, and maintenance costs, and improve ergonomics.

  • Lead and/or assist with the implementation of continuous improvement program initiatives.

  • Develop new concepts in material processing, handling, and productivity for safety and cost reductions.

  • Support Production department in achieving safety, quality, attainment, and cost targets.

  • Lead and/or assist with the design and scale up of manufacturing processes, instruments, and equipment.

  • Create & maintain all documentation associated with the manufacturing process.

  • Willingness to learn business metrics such as STR attainment, Load, conversion costs, etc. and how they impact profitability.

  • Support tactical problem solving & escalation practices through Tiered Visual Management (TVM) system.

  • Interface and provide technical support to all Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and R&D departments.

  • Demonstrated ability to work comfortably with 3D CAD software at a moderate skill level.

  • Experience or familiarity with any of the following is a plus: Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing concepts, wire drawing, and/or winding/spooling operations

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's Strategy.

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Mechanical strongly preferred)

  • Level II: 3+ years professional experience

  • Level III: 5+ years professional experience

  • Apply practical process knowledge with hands on approach to production troubleshooting, installations, and testing.

  • Investigate product warranty reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Develop and recommend equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis and proposals for integrating machinery, equipment, and tooling into the manufacturing process.

  • Monitor and evaluate production parameters including but not limited to scrap generation, production efficiency, and first-pass yield.

  • Author operational work instructions.

  • Work as a collaborative team member or team leader on strategic projects.

  • Work under general supervision with few direct instructions. Carry out routine tasks independently.

  • Interpret internal or external issues and recommend solutions/best practices.

  • Solve complex problems with assistance from senior engineers; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions.

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to identify new opportunities.

  • Must be willing to occasionally work off-shifts to support Production trials
