About the role
We are recruiting an Account Manager to join the ICIS commercial team in London. The role is responsible for managing and growing a subscription‑based customer portfolio, primarily within the chemical sector, with some exposure to energy customers. It requires strong commercial discipline, customer ownership, and a structured approach to account management.
This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role, suited to someone who enjoys managing renewals, developing relationships, and identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts.
Responsibilities

Account ownership: Manage and retain a portfolio of chemical and energy customers, ensuring high renewal rates and long‑term relationships

Commercial growth: Identify and execute upsell and cross‑sell opportunities within existing accounts

Customer engagement: Act as the primary point of contact, delivering a professional and consistent customer experience

Subscription management: Drive renewals through proactive planning, value articulation, and structured account reviews

Market understanding: Develop a strong understanding of ICIS products and how customers use data to support commercial and strategic decisions

Pipeline discipline: Maintain accurate forecasting, opportunity tracking, and account plans

CRM usage: Use Salesforce.com to manage accounts, activity, and commercial insights
-
Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to support customer needs and deliver value
Requirements

Mid‑level to experienced profile, typically 4–5+ years in an account management or commercial role

Experience managing subscription‑based or renewal‑driven portfolios
-
Background in chemicals and/or exposure to energy customers is highly desirable
-
Comfortable operating in a commercially demanding environment

Strong commercial drive and sense of ownership

Structured, disciplined approach to account management

High levels of professionalism and attention to detail

Clear, confident communicator — written and verbal
