About the Team:

You will lead the Behavioral Biometrics engineering team based in Sweden, part of the wider Device Intelligence organization. The team builds high‑scale, low‑latency systems that analyze behavioral signals collected across web browsers, mobile apps, and backend services to help distinguish genuine users from fraud at global scale.

The engineers work across a broad and technically deep stack, including backend services, Java and C/C++ components, browser‑based JavaScript execution, mobile SDKs, data pipelines, and quality automation. Much of the software runs invisibly inside customer environments and must be performant, reliable, privacy‑aware, and easy to integrate.

About the Role:

As Engineering Manager for Behavioral Biometrics, your role is to enable and amplify the impact of a technically strong engineering team. You are responsible for people leadership, delivery, and technical stewardship, while working in close partnership with senior and principal engineers who drive detailed design and implementation. You will work closely with other teams across Threat Metrix, including mobile SDK, analytics, and machine learning teams, while ensuring seamless integration of Behavio Sec’s backend and frontend components into our flagship product.

Key Responsibilities: People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers specializing in behavioral biometrics and device intelligence.
  • Define the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for backend and frontend systems aligned with the company’s product goals and customer needs.
  • Promote adherence to industry standards for fraud prevention, behavioral biometrics, GDPR compliance, data privacy, and cybersecurity.
  • Hire and onboard engineers aligned with the team’s culture.
  • Foster psychological safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Technical & Delivery Leadership

  • Partner with senior engineers on architecture and prioritization.
  • Maintain high standards for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Support work across backend services, data management and research activities.

Execution & Operations

  • Remove delivery blockers and manage cross‑team dependencies.
  • Support incident response and operational maturity.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work effectively across distributed teams and time zones.
  • Collaborate with Product, Support, and Professional services.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience managing software engineering teams
  • Strong systems or backend engineering background
  • Experience supporting senior/principal engineers
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work across regions and time zones.

Desirable Experience

  • Industry Knowledge: Insights into fraud prevention, behavioral analytics, behavioral biometrics, and data privacy
  • Java, C/C++, SQL, NoSQL experience
  • GDPR or privacy‑sensitive systems experience
