About the Role

The Sr Manager of Business Development & Field Sales – Purchase Finance is a senior sales leader responsible for driving regional revenue growth while leading and developing a 5-person Field Sales team. This role combines hands-on business development with frontline leadership, owning both national and regional account acquisition while ensuring consistent team performance. You’ll partner cross-functionally to scale growth, optimize execution, and strengthen market position.

What You'll Do

Lead & Develop a High-Performing Field Sales Team

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of 5 Field Sales Managers across the East US region
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, forecasting sessions, and performance evaluations
  • Provide in-field coaching through ride-alongs and real-time feedback
  • Identify skill gaps and implement targeted development plans
  • Foster a high-accountability, performance-driven team culture
  • Support complex deal strategy, negotiations, and executive engagement

Drive Regional & National Revenue Growth

  • Own regional revenue performance across team production and individual contributions
  • Generate new revenue through national account acquisition and strategic partner expansion
  • Identify and prioritize high-value prospects using market insights and competitive analysis
  • Engage enterprise-level decision-makers and structure complex commercial agreements
  • Oversee onboarding, activation, and performance optimization of key accounts

Strategic Business Development

  • Develop and execute regional growth strategies aligned with company objectives
  • Represent the company at industry events, associations, and conferences
  • Contribute to internal strategy discussions to strengthen product positioning and competitive advantage

Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution

  • Partner with Credit, Risk, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations to enable field success
  • Translate field insights into actionable recommendations for product and go-to-market improvements
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements
  • Act as the escalation point for complex partner issues and drive resolution
  • Improve processes, reporting, and communication to increase team effectiveness

About You

  • 8+ years of B2B sales experience, including enterprise or national account selling
  • 3+ years of experience leading distributed or field-based sales teams
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue and growth targets
  • Strong coaching and team development experience
  • Experience closing complex, high-value deals
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Executive presence with strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel 30–40% nationally, including overnight travel and occasional weekends
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent work experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in financial services, fintech, consumer lending, retail finance, or embedded financing solutions
  • Experience in third-party medical or non-medical industries

Work Location

Remote role in Eastern half of the US with regular national travel.Proximity to New York City, Atlanta, or Charlotte preferred.

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. Lending Club offers relocation, based on actual job level.

Time Zone Requirements Local hours (PT, MT, ET)

While the position will primarily work local hours, Lending Club is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements:

30–40% national travel, including overnight travel and occasional weekends

  • Travel to support team development and partner growth
  • Quarterly travel to San Francisco or Lehi, UT office locations
  • Travel to national accounts, conferences
  • Lending Club will cover travel-related expenses

Compensation

The target base salary range for this position is 165,000-195,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of Lending Club’s Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
