About the Role

The Business Operations & Excellence Manager plays a critical role in partnering closely with senior leaders across Product, Finance, Risk, Legal/Compliance, Technology, Operations and Go-To-Market teams to drive operational rigor, business planning, and execution excellence.

They will support and execute critical cross-functional initiatives, establish scalable operating mechanisms, and translate strategy into measurable outcomes. This individual will operate as a trusted resource to leadership, combining analytical depth with strong execution capabilities in a highly regulated, data-driven fintech environment. This is an opportunity to shape how Lending Club operates at scale, balancing growth, profitability, and risk. This is a high visibility role with meaningful exposure to senior leadership and enterprise-wide initiatives.

What You'll Do

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Partner with executive and functional leaders to support annual and quarterly business planning, including goal-setting, OKRs, and performance tracking
  • Translate corporate and business unit strategy into executable operating plans with clear milestones, owners, and success metrics
  • Lead high-priority strategic initiatives (e.g., new product launches, operating model changes, efficiency programs, regulatory-driven changes)

Business Performance & Analytics

  • Support the business operating cadence, including weekly/monthly business reviews, executive readouts, and KPI dashboards
  • Develop and maintain metrics that monitor business health across growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and risk
  • Identify performance gaps and work cross-functionally to drive corrective actions

Operating Model & Process Excellence

  • Partner with Finance and FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure alignment with strategic priorities
  • Drive operational discipline in a complex environment involving bank partnerships, regulatory requirements, and multiple product lines

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a connective tissue across Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and Operations
  • Influence without authority to align stakeholders, resolve tradeoffs, and accelerate decision-making
  • Support leadership communications, including executive presentations and board-level materials, as needed

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate development, finance, or related roles
  • Proven experience evaluating strategic opportunities and building complex, data-driven business cases
  • Strong financial modeling skills and comfort working with unit economics and capital allocation decisions
  • Experience translating strategy into execution in cross-functional, fast-moving environments
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level storytelling
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Strategy, or related field; or equivalent work experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fintech, consumer lending, banking, or regulated financial services
  • Familiarity with credit risk, unit economics, or marketplace/platform business models
  • Experience partnering closely with Finance, Risk, and Product leadership teams

Work Location San Francisco:

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. Lending Club offers relocation, based on actual job level.

Time Zone Requirements Primarily PT:

While the position will primarily work local hours, Lending Club is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements As needed travel to Lending Club offices and/or other locations, as needed.

Compensation:

The target base salary range for this position is 135,000-159,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of Lending Club’s Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
