Are you ready to join Leidos all-star team? Through training, teamwork, and exposure to challenging technical work, let Leidos show how to accelerate your career path.

Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support a critical National Digital Exploitation and OSINT Center (NDOC, formerly NMEC) program delivering Data Exploitation capabilities to the Intelligence Community (IC) through the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P).

As the APM, you will partner closely with the Project Manager (PM) to support day-to-day execution of program operations. You will help drive program performance, coordinate across functional teams, and ensure alignment with customer priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This role is ideal for a developing project management professional who will assist with coordination, tracking, and communication across the program while gaining exposure to program leadership responsibilities. The program includes a diverse team of 100+ professionals spanning software development, network engineering, Agile delivery, data analytics, outreach, QA/CM, and program controls. Work is primarily conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD. We offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely. Percentage of remote work will vary based on client requirements/deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the PM in execution of program priorities and task order activities

  • Assist in coordination of program deliverables, schedules, and milestones across teams

  • Track task progress and help identify risks/issues for escalation

  • Support facilitation of internal and external meetings, including Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs)

  • Assist in preparation of program status reports, briefings, and customer-facing updates

  • Maintain and update program artifacts, including risk registers and action trackers

  • Support development of program reviews, documentation, and PMO deliverables

  • Coordinate with PMO, staffing, and security teams to support hiring and onboarding activities

  • Assist in tracking staffing needs and program requirements

  • Participate in customer engagements as appropriate, supporting senior PMO leadership

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree are acceptable.

  • 4–8 years of relevant professional experience supporting technical programs

  • Experience supporting cross-functional technical teams

  • Familiarity with Agile environments (SAFe or similar frameworks preferred)

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a Polygraph

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Gitlab)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or working toward certification)

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline

  • Prior experience in a project coordination, PMO support, or task support role

  • Familiarity with basic program management processes (scheduling, tracking, reporting)

  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) customers or similar environments
