- Leidos’ Defense Sensors
- RF Systems Portfolio is seeking a Research Scientist with software development experience to join a talented team within the RF Systems Portfolio. Candidates in this role will be a part of a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and analysts supporting advanced radar systems research and development in a high-fidelity modeling and simulation environment. Candidates will be expected to set up, test, analyze, and evaluate radar and weapon system performance using modeling and simulation of air defense systems.

Support M&S configuration, testing, and data analysis activities of radar and weapon systems to determine performance capabilities
Demonstrate strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in support of analysis products and presentations
Work with a team to find solutions to novel, complex, and non-traditional questions
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or other technical degrees from an ABET-accredited institution plus 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Master of Science degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate degree in relevant technical area
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets and present/provide meaningful insights and statistically relevant findings
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer programming and/or related tools (Python, MATLAB, C++, etc.)
- Must be a US citizen, possess and able to maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Must be a resident of Huntsville. AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area
Preferred Qualifications:
Radar/Air Defense Systems M&S Experience:
Master of Science in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or other technical degrees from an ABET-accredited institution
Experience working in a Linux operating environment
Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets and present/provide meaningful insights and statistically relevant findings
4+ years’ experience in software development and/or integration activities
Background in C++ development
Master of Science in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or other technical degrees from an ABET-accredited institution
Experience working in a Linux operating environment
Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets and present/provide meaningful insights and statistically relevant findings
4+ years’ experience in software development and/or integration activities

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
