Leidos is seeking a Data Operations Specialist to support and improve data workflows for Ameren Illinois’ award-winning Energy Efficiency Programs. This role sits at the intersection of data quality, program operations, and customer impact—ensuring that businesses and residents receive accurate incentives that help reduce energy usage and costs.
This is more than a coordination role. You’ll play a key part in maintaining data integrity, identifying process improvements, and supporting a high-performing team that directly influences program success.
What You’ll Do
You’ll own and improve the flow of program data from intake to reporting. Day-to-day, that means:
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of program data across systems
- Review and validate incoming applications and documentation for energy efficiency incentives
- Identify data discrepancies, investigate root causes, and resolve issues proactively
- Track program activity and support reporting used by internal teams and stakeholders
- Support customer and partner inquiries related to applications and program data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, program management, outreach)
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve how data is collected, managed, and reported
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- Become a trusted resource for data quality and program data processes
- Reduce recurring data errors through improved validation or workflow changes
- Increase efficiency in at least one key process (intake, tracking, or reporting)
- Build strong working relationships across program teams
- Contribute ideas that improve team performance—not just execute tasks
Required Education & Experience:
- High School diploma with 1–3 years of experience in data operations, program coordination, or similar role
- Strong attention to detail with a track record of maintaining high data accuracy
- Experience working with Excel (sorting, filtering, formulas; pivot tables a plus)
- Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve data inconsistencies
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication skills and ability to work across teams
You Might also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce strongly preferred)
- Exposure to data reporting, dashboards, or process improvement work
- Experience prompting Artificial Intelligence to complete tasks and reviewing quality of results for accuracy.
- Experience in energy programs, utilities, or incentive-based programs
Why This Role:
- Growth Path: This role is designed as a stepping stone into data analytics, program operations, or energy program management
- Impact: Your work directly supports energy savings for thousands of customers
- Team: Join a collaborative group known for developing talent and promoting from within
- Stability + Purpose: Work on a long-standing, high-visibility energy efficiency program
Location & Work Model:
- Hybrid: 2–3 days in office per week
- Must be located within commuting distance to the Peoria IL office
- Schedule may adjust based on program needs
Although this role will primarily support the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program, Leidos will be the employer of the person, Ameren Illinois does not take any role in selecting the person for employment, and Ameren Illinois will not have any role in managing the work performed by the person.
Final Thought:
If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, improving how things work, and being the person others rely on to “get the data right,” you’ll do well here.
If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling. At Leidos, we outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo — because the mission demands it. We're not hiring followers. We're recruiting the ones who disrupt, provoke, and refuse to fail. Step 10 is ancient history. We're already at step 30 — and moving faster than anyone else dares.
