This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline security clearance and able to uplift and maintain NV-2.

Do Work That Matters
Join Leidos Australia in a key cyber leadership role supporting a major Defence program. You’ll lead cyber security obligations across the program, advise delivery teams on the best way to meet cyber requirements, and support negotiation of customer approvals to keep delivery moving securely and efficiently.
This role is ideal for a senior cyber professional who combines governance, risk and compliance expertise with strong stakeholder engagement and practical problem-solving.
Your New Role and Responsibilities
- Lead program cyber security obligations across a complex Defence environment.
- Guide and advise teams on how to meet cyber requirements across the delivery lifecycle.
- Support customer approval activities, including security documentation, evidence and assurance.
- Provide leadership across governance, risk and compliance activities.
- Partner with program, engineering and customer stakeholders to strengthen security outcomes.
- Drive continuous uplift of the program’s security posture and risk management capability.
What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact
- Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years in cyber security, including strong experience in governance, risk and compliance.
- Knowledge of cyber security standards, risk frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in a Defence environment, including the Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation Framework.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical teams and customer stakeholders.
What you need to know
- Based in Melbourne CBD location.
- Some work from home flexibility.
- Occasional travel within Australia possible.
- Australian Citizenship required.
- Must be able to start with an AU-Baseline clearance and obtain and maintain AU-NV-2.
