About the role

The Capture Management Intern will assist our Business Area teams in supporting capture and pursuit activities for new and existing programs. The Intern will report to the Business Area Capture Lead/Program Growth Lead. This role is designed for a highly organized and analytical student interested in government contracting, program growth, and opportunity development within a mission-focused environment.

The Intern will work directly with Capture Leads and program teams to support research, coordination, and development of materials that contribute to competitive positioning and proposal readiness. This role will provide hands-on exposure to how Business Areas identify, shape, and pursue opportunities aligned with customer missions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Capture and Pursuit Support (Business Area)

  • Assist Capture Leads and program teams with coordination of active pursuits and growth initiatives.

  • Support development of capture materials, including briefings, summaries, and background documents.

  • Conduct research on customers, programs, and competitors to inform pursuit strategies.

  • Assist in organizing and maintaining capture artifacts, documentation, and shared repositories.

  • Support internal reviews, gate processes, and milestone tracking for capture activities.

  • Help track action items, risks, and dependencies associated with ongoing pursuits.

Proposal and Opportunity Support:

  • Assist with proposal preparation tasks, including formatting, editing, and compliance checks.

  • Support coordination of inputs across technical, program, and functional teams.

  • Help ensure consistency and organization of proposal content and supporting materials.

Strategic Analysis and Research:

  • Conduct targeted research on agency priorities, budgets, and mission areas.

  • Analyze competitor activity and contract landscapes to support opportunity shaping.

  • Synthesize research findings into clear summaries, briefing slides, or supporting materials.

  • Assist in preparation of internal presentations for leadership reviews or strategy discussions.

Administrative and Coordination Support:

  • Maintain trackers, timelines, and status updates for capture-related activities.

  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and document notes and action items.

  • Organize and manage files across collaboration tools such as Share Point, Teams, etc.

  • Support cross-functional coordination to gather inputs for deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Policy / International Affairs, or a related field.

  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to support research, summarization, and content development.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and coordination skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in government contracting, capture management, or program growth.

  • Interest in mission-driven work supporting government customers.

  • Experience with research, analysis, or presentation development.

  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Share Point or Teams.

  • Familiarity with federal agencies or mission spaces (e.g., DoD, DHS, Health).

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear, concise outputs.

  • Ability to work part-time during the academic year and increase hours during breaks.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $41,600.00 - $75,200.00
