About the role
General program information and/or position overview. Leidos’Defense Systems is seeking a Hypersonic Systems Assembly, Integration, and Test Technician Lead to join our team supporting the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB) Flight Test Program. The focus of the MACH-TB Program is to develop rapid-cadence, affordable flight-testing capabilities to quickly advance the Technology Readiness Level of our nation’s hypersonic technologies.
Primary Responsibilities.
The selected candidate will interface directly with program management, military and other government personnel, and teams of multi-disciplined design and development engineers and technicians, both internal and external, making decisions related to the day-to-day operations of assembly, integration, and testing of the MACH-TB test vehicles. These would include troubleshooting NCRs, working out schedule conflicts between Production and Test, working to obtain hardware required for assembly, navigating procurement issues with hardware assigned to various programs, overcoming issues with limited availability/obsolescence, and writing/modifying/red-lining work instructions.
Basic Qualifications.
- Candidate must have a high school diploma and 5+ years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or flight test environment
- Candidate must have strong technical background in defense systems (or subsystems)
- Strong verbal and written skills along with a solid practical knowledge of complex missile or space systems, system integration, and associated testing is required
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with program leadership (internal/client) on matters of strategic importance to the organization/project
- Capability of performing in a collaborative engineering environment, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
- Organizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information
- Candidate must be a resident of North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance
- Must be able to travel up to 30%
Preferred Qualifications.
- Experience with prototype production efforts
- Experience with missile or hypersonic development, flight testing and range safety
- Experience performing risk management, test planning and/or proposal development

Pay Range:
Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
