In Australia, we operate a select, highly skilled, internationally diverse engineering team, providing engineering and design advisory services to Australia's naval programs, and maritime autonomy system development. Our team holds expertise across naval architecture, marine engineering, systems engineering, integrated logistics support, engineering consulting and acquisition program management.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate systems integration activities with the prime contractor, including data reporting and exchange.

  • Oversee the integration of design elements and configuration control across the different design phases, including transition to verification and validation.

  • Identify integration solutions that support program execution while meeting the technical requirements of the engineering directorate.

  • Provide engineering advice to the Whole of Ship Director, Technical Director and/or Chief Engineers.

  • Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, including Commonwealth Industry Partners, RAN, DSTG and others as required.

What You’ll Bring to Make An Impact

  • A minimum of 8 years’ broad experience across marine engineering, naval architecture, system integration and systems engineering in complex systems.

  • Technically or degree qualified to Bachelor degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g. systems engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, naval architecture or physics).

  • Familiarity with ship design and operations, including the ability to demonstrate an understanding of platform characteristics and conduct operational assessments.

  • Typically 5 years’ direct, relevant experience working in the maritime community, supported by a strong technical background.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong verbal and written communication; the ability to operate impartially and objectively in a highly complex and challenging environment; and the ability to work independently with limited guidance, keeping relevant stakeholders informed as required.
