About the role

Leidos is seeking a Readiness Training & Multimedia Documentation Lead to support the delivery of mission-focused scheduling and planning solutions to defense customers and warfighters. This role is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, multimedia training and operational documentation that enables warfighters in the sustainment of their equipment.

In addition to delivery, this role will drive the development of productized training capabilities—modular, scalable, and reusable training solutions that can be rapidly deployed across programs and mission environments. You will help transform training from a one-time activity into a repeatable, mission-ready capability aligned to enterprise defense needs.

Why Leidos?

At Leidos, you’ll help deliver mission-critical capabilities directly to warfighters, while shaping how training is delivered across the defense enterprise. Your work will go beyond traditional instruction—building repeatable, scalable training products that accelerate adoption and enhance mission effectiveness across programs.

Primary Responsibilities include:

Multimedia Training Development & Delivery

  • Design and develop multimedia training products, including:
  • Interactive e Learning modules
  • Scenario-based mission simulations
  • Video tutorials, screen captures, and microlearning content
  • Mobile-friendly and quick-reference assets
  • Deliver instructor-led and virtual training tailored to warfighter and operational audiences
  • Adapt training for low-bandwidth, disconnected, and forward-deployed environments
  • Apply adult learning principles and human-centered design to maximize usability and retention

Productized Training Capability Development

  • Develop modular, reusable training packages that can be deployed across multiple programs and customers
  • Establish standardized training architectures, including:
  • Role-based learning paths
  • Configurable content aligned to different mission sets
  • Version-controlled training libraries and assets
  • Build “training-as-a-product” frameworks, enabling rapid onboarding of new users and programs
  • Partner with program and solution teams to integrate training into overall solution delivery models
  • Define strategies for scaling training delivery via LMS platforms, digital repositories, and self-service learning environments

Mission-Focused Documentation

  • Produce operationally relevant documentation, including:
  • Mission-oriented user guides and job aids
  • Tactical workflows and use-case-driven instructions
  • Quick-start guides for rapid onboarding in theater
  • Translate technical functionality into clear, mission-aligned language
  • Ensure documentation supports ease of use under operational constraints
  • Align documentation with productized training assets for consistency and reuse

User Engagement & Field Enablement

  • Engage directly with warfighters, planners, and operational staff to understand mission needs
  • Facilitate hands-on training, exercises, and user feedback sessions
  • Iterate training products based on real-world usage and operational feedback
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and end users in mission environments

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Build and maintain a library of enterprise training accelerators and reusable multimedia assets
  • Incorporate emerging technologies (e.g., interactive simulations, immersive training) where mission-relevant
  • Measure effectiveness using adoption, proficiency, and mission impact metrics
  • Continuously refine content to improve scalability, accessibility, and operational effectiveness

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience developing multimedia training content (e Learning, video, interactive modules)
  • Experience supporting DoD or defense mission environments
  • Experience developing scalable or reusable training solutions across multiple programs
  • Strong technical writing and visual communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into operationally relevant training
  • Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Experience building or managing enterprise training products or learning ecosystems
  • Experience training warfighters or operational end users
  • Familiarity with deployed or austere environment constraints
  • Experience with tools such as:
  • Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia
  • Video production and screen capture platforms
  • Experience supporting mission systems, digital engineering, or operational planning tools

Key Competencies

  • Multimedia instructional design and storytelling
  • Product-oriented thinking and content modularization
  • Human-centered design and user experience (UX) thinking
  • Communication for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Mission awareness and operational empathy
  • Scalability and enterprise mindset
