Your New Role and Responsibilities

As part of a newly established project, this role has been created to support a Sydney‑based Defence customer, delivering critical service coordination and operational support across a complex ICT environment.

Reporting to the CTS Support Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising customer platforms, ensuring system performance, managing Evergreen activities, and supporting middleware hardware and software. The role also requires a hands‑on approach, including on‑site support as needed, to ensure both logical and physical components of the environment operate as intended.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead the support and sustainment of a secure Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) environment using VMware and Dell technologies.
• Maintain, tune and lifecycle-manage enterprise platforms, including patching and upgrades across VMware SDDC components.
• Support and sustainment of Apache Ni Fi implementation
• Provide hands-on technical support, including on-site assistance, to ensure optimal operation of logical and physical system components.
• Deliver SME-level support for midrange servers, resolving complex technical issues and high priority incidents.
• Produce and maintain high quality technical, architectural, and operational documentation while leveraging automation to streamline processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hands-on experience with VMware technologies and Hyper Converged Infrastructure in secure environments.
• Proven capability managing Dell EMC compute and storage platforms, including integration with network and related services.
• Strong proficiency with Apache Ni Fi or similar solution
• Exposure to various database technologies including MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc.
• Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and SDDC Manager lifecycle activities.
• Solid administration skills across Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), with advanced troubleshooting capability.
• Experience working in secure or Defence-aligned ICT environments, with the ability to travel as required.
