The Leidos Performance and Readiness division is hiring a counselor for our Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) and Marines Adolescent Support and Counseling Services (ASACS) program. This program implements a community-based adolescent support and counseling program for the adolescent dependents of U.S. Service members at U.S Military installations. The essential clinical services include assessment, early intervention, and counseling services for adolescents and their families for Alcohol and other drug (AOD) and other behavioral health risk factors. The essential prevention and education aspect of the role includes classroom education for adolescents, in-service training to community agencies, community education, screening for and facilitation of prevention support groups for youth from high-risk environments and participation in community awareness campaigns.
This position is anticipated to be available in June 2026.
This program offers year-round services, with counselors embedded in the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools. Length of initial assignment is 3 years, followed by options to renew annually for the duration of the contract.
Position not located in USA, relocation to assignment location is required as an expatriate. Relocation assistance provided.
Candidate must possess a valid state clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology) and meet the Defense Health Agency (DHA) requirements for independent credentialing and privileging by the local Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) as outlined in the qualifications section. Additionally, candidate must have engaged in direct patient care within the past two years (peer-reviewable experience). Completion of DHA reference forms by a current or recent clinical supervisor and peer is required for MTF credentialing and privileging before hire.
Primary Responsibilities:

Developing and implementing a community-based adolescent substance abuse prevention and treatment program
-
Interfacing and networking with military branches and the community to identify adolescents in need of services
-
Supporting family quality of life by offering individual, group and family counseling
-
Intake, screening, assessment, and management of case load
-
Provide AOD training and specialized education on a variety of topics
-
Treatment planning, discharge, records management, and continuing care planning for caseload
-
Participation in quality assurance
-
Case record management and documentation
-
Securing and maintaining written referral agreements with all community agencies and briefing referral agencies about the ASACS program

Demonstrate creativity and skill in prevention education, community referral agreements, and program marketing
-
Utilize word processing, basic databases/email systems, and manage files electronically
-
Apply knowledge of risk management and program development to enhance services and programs
Qualifications are dependent on license held: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Current independent license as LCSW with no adjudicated adverse actions on the licensure
-
Master’s or higher-level degree from a mental health counseling program of education and training accredited for Mental Health Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)

Two (2+) years of supervised post graduate counseling experience working with an adolescent population. Those with experience in treatment of adolescent substance abuse preferred

Actively practiced in the past two (2) years (i.e., direct patient care that is peer reviewable)

The possession of or eligibility for a state or national alcohol and drug counseling (AOD) certification
-
Must hold a current US driver’s license and be eligible to obtain a US military ID card, credentialing at military hospital and approval by client
-
Ability to acquire favorable results for Childcare National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI)
-
Due to US Government requirements, you must be a US Citizen
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
-
Current independent license as LPC with no adjudicated adverse actions on the licensure
-
Master’s or higher-level degree from a mental health counseling program of education and training accredited for Mental Health Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)
-
Passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE)
-
Two (2+) years of supervised post graduate counseling experience working with an adolescent population. Those with experience in treatment of adolescent substance abuse preferred
-
Actively practiced in the past two (2) years (i.e., direct patient care that is peer reviewable)
-
The possession of, or eligibility for, a state or national alcohol and drug counseling (AOD) certification
-
Must hold a current US driver’s license and be eligible to obtain a US military ID card, credentialing at military hospital and approval by client
-
Ability to acquire favorable results for Childcare National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI)
-
Due to US Government requirements, you must be a US Citizen
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
-
Current independent license as LMFT with no adjudicated adverse actions on the licensure
-
Meet one of the following education requirements:
-
Master's or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE)
-
A qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards as defined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT)
-
Possess a clinical membership credential issued by the AAMFT
-
Two (2+) years of supervised post graduate counseling experience working with an adolescent population. Those with experience in treatment of adolescent substance abuse preferred
-
Actively practiced in the past two (2) years (i.e., direct patient care that is peer reviewable)
-
The possession of, or eligibility for, a state or national alcohol and drug counseling (AOD) certification
-
Must hold a current US driver’s license and be eligible to obtain a US military ID card, credentialing at military hospital and approval by client
-
Ability to acquire favorable results for Childcare National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI)

Pay Range:
Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
