Lab Corp is seeking a Point of Care Laboratory Team Leader to join our team in Milwaukee, WI.

Monday - Friday, 7: 30am - 4pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the supervisor with the day to day operations of the Point of Care departments throughout our Ascension Medical Group locations across the Milwaukee area
• Send daily, weekly and monthly productions reports to management
• Assist with the training of new hires and the development of current employees
• Keep supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities
• Partner with clinicians, leaders, and associates to ensure best practices are being followed for waived point of care testing
• Ensure quality and safety practices are implemented and followed at each location
• Monitor training and competency assessment of associates performing waived Point of Care testing
• Monitor proficiency waived testing performance and results
• Implement new waived point of care test methods
• Monitor quality control for waived point of care testing
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Perform site visits to AMG clinics across the Milwaukee area when needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree or higher is preferred
• Prior experience managing waived point of care testing is preferred
• Experience working directly with clinicians and clinical associates is preferred
• 3 years of experience as a clinical lab technician/technologist is preferred
• Prior leadership experience is a plus
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures is preferred
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
