Job Title: Associate Manager, Operations Management Job Number: 34534Job Location:Mason, Ohio Schedule: 1st shift - 9/80POSITION SUMMARY

In this role you will be responsible for the Rework Process in the Space production labs. The responsibilities include but are not limited to; managing a small team of assemblers to complete the rework, managing the associated equipment, managing the priorities, and completing the rework operations yourself. The role will also be responsible for the New Production Introduction (NPI) process. Responsibilities will include; working with engineering on process and product development, owning the entire NPI process, managing schedules and priorities, managing the same team to execute the NPI builds.

L3Harris Space & Sensors Division, headquartered in Mason, Ohio, designs, develops, and manufactures complex systems (electronic, avionics, transceivers, transmitters, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical) for the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets. L3Harris is a recognized leader in Electro-Optical technologies that enable systems to support surveillance, reconnaissance, threat detection, and self-protection missions. Our world-class Space Avionics systems include equipment for Mars Rover/Landers/Orbiters, Launch Vehicles, and Imaging Satellite Communications.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Supervises a team of 5-10 highly skilled solder assemblers
  • Communicates with parties inside and outside of the department to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Plans and establishes operational objectives for the team with some impact on department results.
  • Provides day-to-day work direction for direct report(s), focuses on maintaining steady workflow, productivity, and resolving operational decisions.
  • Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for direct report(s).
  • Plans and administers and monitors procedures and budgets.
  • Develops schedules and staffing requirements for assigned areas.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Explains and interprets policies, practices, and procedures of the area of responsibility to others within the organization.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team within a clearly defined job area.
  • Delivers operational results that have impact on the achievement of departmental results.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • 6+ years of Supervisory/Management experience
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and resources simultaneously
  • Must be a United States Citizen

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Prolonged standing
  • Must be able to move from lab to lab and inside the lab that you are located in

L3Harris announced on January 5th, that AE Industrial Partners (“AE Industrial”) has agreed to acquire a controlling interest in L3Harris’ Space Propulsion and Power Systems business. This position has been identified as one that will transition to the new standalone company upon closing of the transaction.
