Job Description:

L3Harris is actively seeking a Systems Engineering (SE) Senior Manager for our facility located in Greenville, TX for a direct hire opportunity. We offer great competitive benefits and a generous relocation package for those who qualify.

We are looking for a senior professional with strong knowledge of Systems Engineering and a background in Networking. They will be responsible for the sustainment, assessment and development of a diverse Network team. They will be responsible for staffing, proposal and bid reviews and will ensure engineers adhere to L3Harris’ policies, vision, values, and goals. They would be able to communicate within and outside of the SE functional group to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures and make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes, as needed. The SE Senior Manager would contribute to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results. Additionally, they will develop job requisitions, review resumes, conduct interviews, attend hiring events, make hiring decisions, and onboard employees. Support HR incidents and investigations.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of Network engineers in support of multiple business areas.
  • Forecast Systems Engineering Manpower needs based on Program and Potential demand forecast.
  • Determine hiring needs and conduct searches to onboard needed System Engineers.
  • Facilitate effective interaction between project engineers, program management and customers.
  • Support proposal development activities including labor estimation (BOE creation and review) and technical response development.
  • Establish training requirements for continued professional development of the team to meet business goals.
  • Establish and manage department overhead budget and ensure staff has the tools and equipment needed to effectively conduct their roles.
  • Capable of Problem Solving, Team Leadership, Strategic Thinking / Planning, Communication, IPT / Cross Functional Behavior, Accountability, and Critical Thinking.
  • Review program budgets and schedules with SE program teams.
  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals, including senior level management.
  • Ensure programs translate customer requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements.
  • Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TOP SECRET/SCI.
  • Demonstrated experience at a Senior Management or Lead level in Systems Engineering with an emphasis on Networking.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Network Security policies and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience providing direction for Security, Networking, or Database Engineering team members, which include identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement.
  • Demonstrated experience with full MS Office suite.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Analysis of detailed hardware and software specifications for systems, subsystems, and key components.
  • Leadership
  • Task or IPT Leader and/or Functional Management.
  • Entire Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and Activities.
  • IRAD and Technical Baseline development/management.
  • Requirements Management.
  • Proposal Development.
