R&I Finance Controller – Skincare & Suncare

A Day in the Life

Within our Research & Innovation (R&I) teams, you will help push the boundaries of science to invent the beauty of tomorrow. Reporting to the Métiers Finance Manager, you will join a team of experts dedicated to the financial steering of Skincare & Suncare.

This role is strategic: you will manage a significant portion (40-45%) of our global Métiers activity, focusing on structure and scientific costs. This assignment offers a unique chance to dive deep into the R&I transformation and gain a comprehensive understanding of our financial and operational steering tools.

Your Main Responsibilities will be:

• Global Budget Management: Oversee and manage global budgets for Application Domains (DA) and Development (DEV). You will collaborate closely with DA/DEV leaders, Labs, and PFM teams, including hub allocation for scientific costs.
• Performance & Productivity Analysis: Conduct ROI and productivity analyses to enhance cost management. You will follow up on instrumented evaluation (EI) testing programs and perform abacus and gap analysis studies.
• Transformation Support: Actively contribute to Métiers Transformation initiatives, including the Vitamine Project, and drive "Ways of Working" change management.
• Financial Reporting & Planning: Manage monthly and yearly financial closures, budget planning (Trends), and variance analysis.
• KPI Animation: Drive non-financial KPIs for the Métier, focusing on DA/DEV projects, Time-to-Market (TTM), and abandonment rates.
• Transversal Projects: Depending on your integration speed, lead transversal and common activities for the entire finance team (e.g., QP RAD).

We Are Looking For

We are looking for an individual with a strong analytical mindset and a curiosity for the scientific world, capable of transforming complex data into decision-making levers. You thrive in a collaborative, agile environment and are ready to tackle complex technical challenges.

You are the ideal candidate if you have:

• A Master’s degree (Business School, University, or Engineering) with a specialization in Finance or Controlling.
• A first successful experience in financial controlling, ideally within an industrial or research environment.
• Excellent analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong team spirit and excellent communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders (scientists, marketing, finance).
• Fluency in English (daily international context).
• Strong proficiency in IT tools and financial information systems.
