Job Title: Director, Global Product Development

Brand: Youth to the People

Location: El Segundo, CA

Summary:

The Director of Global Product Development will lead the development and execution of Youth To The People's global product strategy. This role requires a passionate and innovative leader with a deep understanding of the skincare industry, particularly within the natural and "superfood" segment. This individual will oversee all aspects of product development from ideation to launch, ensuring alignment with the brand's commitment to clean, sustainable, and high-performing formulations. They will manage the PD team and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, claims, lab, and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Vision: Develop and implement a long-term global product roadmap aligned with Youth To The People’s brand identity, target market, and business objectives.
  • Innovation: Research and identify emerging trends in skincare ingredients, formulations, and packaging. Lead the development of innovative and differentiated products that meet consumer needs and strengthen the brand's competitive advantage.
  • Product Development Lifecycle: Oversee all stages of product development, including ideation, formulation, testing, packaging selection, and manufacturing scale-up.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop team member (s). Foster a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, lab and operations teams to ensure successful product launches and market penetration. Collaborate with supply chain and procurement to ensure ethical sourcing and sustainable practices.
  • Budget Management: Manage the product development budget effectively and efficiently.
  • Sustainability: Champion Youth To The People's commitment to sustainability by incorporating eco-friendly practices into the product development process, including ingredient sourcing and packaging selection.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement and new product development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in skincare. Preferably product development within the beauty or skincare industry, with a proven track record of successful product launches.
  • Deep understanding of skincare formulation, ingredients, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working with natural and "superfood" ingredients highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for the beauty industry and Youth To The People’s brand values.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Salary Range: 128k-180k base salary + bonus
