Reports into Reliability Engineering Manager
Role Summary
As the Reliability Engineering Lead in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, you will spearhead the development and execution of asset reliability strategies to ensure consistent high-quality production. Leveraging data driven maintenance practices and cross functional collaboration, you’ll lead efforts to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance and embed a culture of continuous improvement, all while upholding the highest standards of food quality, safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with the implementation of the MRE Pillar for KHMS across the site. Fostering the reliability culture within the maintenance teams.
- Facilitation and Implementation of root cause analysis (RCFA, IDA etc) and corrective action processes for equipment failures, driving long term solutions. The role will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders.
- Optimisation of maintenance strategies and life cycle costs, through effective predictive techniques and design out philosophies.
- Development of Engineering procedures and standards, ensuring that the actions of improvement work are delivered effectively and that the outputs are sustainable through a rigorous review and change control process.
- Support the delivery of people development, the role will have a responsibility to identify skill gaps to develop and deliver training courses across the Operational and Engineering teams
- Liaise and manage OEMs and Contractors as required, it is essential that all activities are coordinated effectively with safety and quality in mind. The role will ensure that any risks to people and product are managed accordingly by referring to site procedures and industry standards.
- Support CMMS development (SAP) by implementing Smart PMs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, using tools such as FMEA, 5 Whys, Pareto analysis to reduce losses and inefficiencies.
- Review and Development of Engineering KPI’s in-line with business progress.
Expected Experience and Required Skills
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience/qualification)
- Proven experience in a Reliability or Maintenance Leadership role within a fast-paced food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Solid understanding of OEE, MTBF, MTTR and other maintenance performance metrics.
- Proficient in using reliability tools and methodologies such as RCFA, FEMEA, RCM, TPM and 5 Whys
- Skilled in using CMMS (e.g. SAP, Maximo, PEMAC etc, SAP is preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years industrial experience of which 2 years ideally within a Trouble shooting role
- Excellent communication and written skills to ensure quality reporting
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Champion of safety
- Strong problem-solving skills with the tenacity and resilience to ensure new initiatives are implemented
- Must be flexible and able to work efficiently in a dynamic team
- A forward thinker who demonstrates a ‘can-do’ attitude
