Job Description

The Kraft Heinz Company is looking for a Tomato Sourcing Manager who serves as the commercial and operational link between Kraft Heinz and tomato growers, traders, tomato paste suppliers, and the Heinz Seed business. You ensure continuity of tomato and tomato paste supply to the Kraft Heinz factory in Egypt at the most competitive total cost, specified quality, and within agreed lead times. You also own the back-office operations for Heinz Seed in Egypt, covering inside sales execution and seed registration/import. You ensure all partners comply with Kraft Heinz policies and quality criteria, and you drive supplier contributions to value engineering and new product development.

Key Responsibilities

Tomato Sourcing Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and execute 1-year and 3-year tomato sourcing strategies, aligning with Agriculture Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Marketing, and Finance.

  • Define clear selection criteria for growers (quality, yield, reliability, compliance, sustainability).

  • Conduct spend analysis and manage Ariba contract creation, governance, and amendments (prices, terms, renewals).

  • Ensure accurate setup of seasonal grower prices and contract data at the start of each season.

  • Report and track prices, monthly and yearly cost evolution, and total cost of ownership (TCO).

  • Prepare benchmark cost breakdowns across growers and traders; identify cost-down opportunities.

  • Ensure timely approvals and signatures on contracts; maintain compliance with the Delegation of Authority (DoA).

  1. Supply Continuity, Risk & Stock Management:
  • Ensure 100% coverage of tomato and tomato paste requirements through proactive sourcing and BCP (Business Continuity Planning).

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage risks (crop yield variability, quality deviations, logistics, FX, regulatory) in collaboration with S&OP and key stakeholders.

  • Oversee order processing and stock monitoring to ensure supply security and business continuity.

  • Scout and onboard new growers to expand the supplier pool and strengthen BCP.

Supplier & Grower Performance Management:

  • Manage growers’ sourcing performance and KPIs (yield, quality compliance, OTIF, cost, service).

  • Lead cross-functional evaluations with Agriculture, Supply Planning, Quality, R&D, and Finance; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.

  • Foster long-term supplier partnerships to achieve ongoing total cost reductions and innovation.

Value Engineering & NPD Support:

  • Drive and ensure timely implementation of value-engineering initiatives in the factory (processes, packaging, formulations).

  • Coordinate supplier support for new product development trials and commercialization.

  1. Seed Operations:
  • Manage inside sales execution for Heinz tomato seeds (order entry, customer service, invoicing, delivery).

  • Lead seed registration and import (trial and commercial), pricing, credit/financial risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain an overall, variety-specific market forecast for three seasons forward, updated twice per year, in partnership with the local Agriculture team.

  • Collaborate closely with the Stockton, California, Heinz Seed Operations Team on seed movement and availability.

  • Support demand shaping through alignment with the agriculture team’s farm systems improvement and variety adoption plans.

  1. Governance, Systems & Reporting:
  • Maintain dashboards for price trends, TCO, contract cycle time, OTIF, inventory health, and seed P&L.

  • Ensure data integrity and process discipline across Ariba, SRM, and Microsoft 365.

  • Prepare monthly governance packs and present them to local and global stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years in a relevant procurement, supply chain, or agricultural role.

  • Fluent in English and Arabic.

  • Stakeholder and supplier relationship management (SRM)

  • Microsoft 365 proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Procurement and contract management systems (e.g., Ariba/SRM); basic P&L reporting

  • Cost and risk analysis (TCO modeling, benchmarking)

  • Knowledge in project management and cross-functional coordination

  • Results-driven, able to work independently and deliver on time

  • Experience working in agricultural sourcing/procurement: supplier selection, contracting, cost optimization

  • Knowledge in Registration/import processes, pricing, credit control, and financial risk management

  • Strong analytical capability for spend, cost, and risk assessment
